Supply Caches. And How Pathetic They Are

But after a while i felt like there was a small patch of emptiness. And that was the containers vs supply caches
WOWS has containers. Earn EXP, and get 3 containers each day. You can choose the category of content, including the super container gamble wich has chance of doubloons (MC) or even premium ships
A system wich works very well in WOWS. Its pretty rewarding. I have got plenty of doubloons, premium time and camo pain, but even 2 premium ships (Kutuzov and sims)
On mechwarrior online? Absolutely pathetic...
I have gotten nothing but common supply caches with a lousy er small laser, flamer, TAG and a stupid decal. At the time of the fafnir release i got an ultra rare cache, but it was not impressive either. Not only that. You need far more playtime to get one supply cache. The time it takes to get one supply cache is more then half the time i need for WOWS.
Its an improvement over the previous system where you had to pay MC to open a supply cache for one item wich was often wortheless. But still it feels very underwehlming
WOWS gives free players daily a small but usefull reward. MWO does not

It would be nice if you could get 800GXP in addition to regular items. It's not a lot but one skill point is one less game to grind.

If you want to avoid such a sense of disappointment just don’t open them.

The new system, while doesn't cost me a few MC that i earned for free on occasion, the items i get are just not as worth while to me..
Even saving till i have 10 seams a bit lack luster.. I'd take the old system any day.. and i said so at least 25 times on the boards begging them not to change the system... I lost

Supply caches are just a fun thing for me and my son to open up every few days. I've never purchased a sticker that isn't a letter, and I have 60+ in 3 months.
Rewards are fine and keep me playing 20+ hours a week.

I agree they're not stand out special. But it's a non issue for most of us. I think you could draw a closer parallel to MWO's event system. Designed to give people something to work toward and reward them. The recent event gave me a reason to keep playing this last weekend. MC, mechbay, and a nice stack of c-bills ain't bad.

BUT FREE STUFF for literaly playing the game? seriously? like this suply cahce system helps the new guys with grind with equipment that they can equip or sell, not to mention free decals.
also wows is turble same with tanks, its grind beyond years to get to tier 10 in which you will be canon fodder for the higher tier tanks/ships. not fun i tell ya

The only grinding I have to do is for XP for mastery...Even then I've stockpiled a bunch of GXP from past events where I have enough to flat out master 3-4 new chassis' outright. Which should come in handy for the Champ, Vapor and Hatamoto.
Meh, free stuff is nothing to complain about.

I still remember bone stock Trial mechs (in a world of DHS) which only gave you 75% earnings (as a rental fee?)
