Yes trash consumables like the abomniations they are :Cool $%its , Lame strikes. ETC.
I say make them equipment that has weight, but that's just me and that is beside the topic. I fully recognise the list of more important things is quite large, but I am not going to let that stop me discussing things I like or notice etc.

I wasn't saying that they were giving out that MC in large amounts, just that they were giving it away in any amount.
Look at the other side of the coin. If PGI didn't give (MC) Rewards for Events, then quite a large number of people would leave quickly over not being able to acquire the resource required for expanding their Mech Garage. That's more Mech Bays, which are needed in order to not waste other in-game resources. In order for PGI to be able to have the game called "Free to Play" by other people, certain minimum things have to be accessible, and one of those is the ability to acquire Mech Bays for the progression needed to stay in the game. Otherwise it ends up considered "Pay to Play" because all you get to do is a little, and then you're effectively stuck with "If you want to keep going, you'll have to shell out Real $$$ equivalent to a Child's Life" (Yeah, realistically speaking, that's what it would cost.) which will turn most people away in an instant. Frankly, I find that so depressing to the point of it starting to make me rethink my presence on MWO in its' entirety, because if people leave then there's nobody in the queues to play with and the game goes dead. So therefore, unless PGI decides to make Mech Bays purchasable with (C-Bills), those Event (MC) Rewards are critical to MWO's overall survival.
Anywho, I think we had better get back to the Main Topic, before I get suicidally depressed... So which Cockpit Items do you feel could use the allowance of Double Mounts?

Lights could use a separate "decoration" slot. No double Mounted slot - that would allow double warhorns. Hanging items could have two slots (left / right), with only one useable at a time

Many of those restrictions would bring us right back to what got this Idea Thread started. I don't think we want to make it too restrictive, or the Idea just falls apart at the seams. I think there's a way to make it a little more extensible, without causing annoying problems. For example...
- In the case of Mounted Items, there could be 2 Slots. Yes, only 1 Slot could (or even should) carry a "Killing Blow"-type WarHorn. In return as an exception, a "Just Died"-type WarHorn (such as the "Fools WarHorn") could be placed in the other Mounted Item Slot. One thing happens if you Kill, the other happens if you Die, no conflicts there. Also possible would be to mix in Mounted Lights, either with a "Killing Blow"-type WarHorn, or a "Just Died"-type WarHorn, as we obviously don't want to mix all three types here.
- In the case of Hanging Items, you would be surprised at the people who want to Hang items up in both sides of the Cockpit. Frankly, I wouldn't personally contest them having the allowance of doing that. Imagine people who have good luck with two separate Events with one Mech, and want to display and share the significance with others. Or heck, those who want a Lantern or such, mixed with a (C-Bills)-Boosting Medallion. I just don't see the reason to take that away from them. Let 'em "pimp their ride", as some would say, then have a laugh at them when it looks ridiculous.
- As for Standing Items, those will sit totally out of the way. About the only restriction I might agree with here is a limit of allowing just one of those Allegiance Banners and/or War Victory Banners at a time. Yes, I do get how it would get annoying to see someone trying to boast too much. But in terms of other items, I don't see the issue with someone saying they like two foods, two countries, two particular Mechs, or even two of other such things.

You walk into the hardware store. They've got barely any hardware, but you really like the store for some reason (you went there as a kid).
The store is not doing very well as a hardware store, so in order to keep the lights on, you buy all the gum and other knickknacks they sell at the front counter.
Inadvertently, the store believes their primary income should be the small items they sell at the counter.
Welcome to MWO.
