Please stop reaching for a silver lining. We need and have needed new content. Solaris City was the last map and that was 8 months ago, also it's super popular with the general populace. I love the background buildings that are actually sculpted landscape; leads one to wonder if that has anything to do with how it runs for most people.

Haven't played in a good long while and only recently returned. What about all the maps that are listed in the testing center. Are those just for specific modes like Solaris and Faction or are they just not used? Seems like a waste of resources as there are a lot of maps listed there.

Case in point;
wtf is this and why is it there? I'm not a map designer by any means, but even I can deduct that this probably very likely causes some extra, unnecessary performance hiccups.

Ya, 5 of the maps are strictly for faction. Every single planet consists of 5 exactly similar scenarios with bases located in the same spot in the terrain.

EVERY MAP has some stupid feature in it that ends up being the axis of rotation for the moronic dance of noobs that is the disease of this game. Gameplay would be so much better if you just added or removed features on the map, to break up the standard "ring around the rosey" that this game has always been.

The ramps that were added to River City was a good start. However, it would have been a much better move to just remove the "Citadel" all together. What is the obsession with putting big objects in the center of maps that attract zombified players like flies on feces? Please! Do some kind of analysis on player movements and correct your map design. It can't be that difficult.

I agree that Nascaring is becoming a real problem, and should be dealt with.

I agree that the game needs new maps, and map mods. Badly. Direly. Yesterday.

But take into consideration, that on the most open map in the game, Polar Highlands, if you play Domination, that nascar happens every time. Every. Friggin. Time.

And all the slow movers get mowed down and shot in the back, or ripped apart by lights.

So it's not so much about the map features. It's about the state of mind in player's heads.

STOP THE NASCAR!
