Super curious as to who pulled this little trick. 3D background that you can never get to!

Also, the water covering every part of the map doesn't help.

thats just low poly background. i think the thing that ruins it are all the animated textures, and the z-fighting makes it look ugly. i get good performance there though, i just wish it was less ugly due to z fighting on some of the textures.

Tbh I'm 99% sure the water is flat, and just has shaders. Further they aren't active reflective shaders.
the water gets a lot of flak but i think its more all the unobstructed sightlines that water provides thats the problem, not the water itself. low poly geometry in the distance is a good way to break that up. i think all the maps that have performance issues have long unobstructed sightlines where you can see a lot of objects off in the distance, and not all of them are low poly like this background city here.

I think it's the animated stuff inside.

PGI has over all Years Problems with effects by his self modified Cryengine ...thinking back to the Cooling Smoke effect in HPG thats brings the Game in zoom down to a Pic and Pic slideshow

My biggest issue with Solaris is the way there are raindrops hitting the ground but not a cloud in the sky. Are people spitting at us from the upper floors?
