BLR-3M

3x LPL, 5x ERML, 1 Gauss Rifle. A bit slow on 285 LFE. Still trying to push for an IS version of the Deathstrike. :)

Too hot to be viable. Ds will out shoot this this thing 2 to one. Is weapons are just too heavy to pull it off.

Personally, as a T4 player, I would swap the ERMLs for regular MLs or drop the arm lasers, and be prepared to chain fire when things get close. Another alternative would be to keep the ERMLs and swap the LPLs for LLs. You'll lose some brawling capability but still have a decent laser alpha. Ton for ton, it's very difficult to match Clan laser alphas with IS mechs/weapons.

Still, if you can ride the heat scale effectively, you will put a lot of hurt out with your build.

Good hunting,

I'd go for STD LLs, too. 6 spare tons would go into engine, an extra ton of ammo and armor. If it proves too hot, I'd drop the arm ERMLs next.
It is hard to out-alpha a clan mech with an IS mech on the 1st salvo. Sometimes it is more viable to go for a 2-salvo trade or go for sustained fire all the way.

Honestly the ONLY mech that IS has thats even remotely comparable to a MCII is the cyclops with 2 HGR and 4 ERML. Sustain is better, and its arguably deadlier, IF you can get into ~300m or so where the HGRs are doing almost max dmg. Yeah its only 70 alfa strike, but 50 is heat-free, and 20 laser can be fired 3-4 times alongside b4 you start to feel the heat. The only thing that IS simply cant do is match a clam trader at 400-600m, period, the best you will get at that range bracket is ~50-60 dmg per exposure, while a clammer can get 70 or so on more then 1 chassis at said ranges. Still, IS shouldnt try and play the clam game, get up close and demolish them while they either cook themselves or sit unable to retaliate. If you survive the 1st shot, he is going down then and there.

Obviously the DS is still broken in that its the only mech (and a hero at that) that can effectively do 90+ alfa strike without extreme sacrifices (others like dire can too, but are slow, bad hitboxes, the size of a barn). To that end, unless it gets neg quirks i seriously doubt itll ever not be a thing, even if PGI decided to neuter every clan laser weapon and or gauss since its got the hardpoints to trade at mid range better then any other.

Speedy mid-range brawler

Light 370 (75.8 /w max speed boost)
520/526 armor (/w Endo steel)
6 ER Medium lasers (or just Medium) (416m/316m)
1 MRM 40 (623m) 3 tons of ammo
AMS 2.5 tons ammo
3-4 DHS

This takes advantage of 2 of the 3 quirks the 3M has; IS Medium laser duration -5% (for 15% total [with skills], which means your ML's are popping off 0.18 seconds faster), plus -10% cooldown duration for Missiles, so MRM40 is taking full advantage of it (along with skills).
