I have to agree with the OP here. It's incredibly annoying to me that I have to login in order to see whether it's worth logging in. That's frankly silly.

Yes, it's a subtle little detail, I know... and some people aren't bothered by it. But we all know about the little details by now...

I'm not going to bother debating the inane logging in issue OP started. Instead i am rather concerned that we are at the point where the game needs to put on events to get the players in.

If this game had a steady playerbase we wouldn't have to worry about luring the punters sitting on the sidelines with crappy events.

Hence I do harbor fear that these constant events after events is some sort of a death rattle....

In any event, the title of this post is highly misleading. You're suggesting that all infrequent players are in the same category. Some newer players might see a massive boon from a few million CBills and 250 MC. Older players who already own most of the 'Mechs probably don't care. You have infrequent players in both categories.

People who already log into game are actively playing it already, the problem is with people who don't really bother with game but occasionally check the site to see if there's something going on to give them some incentive to return to the game. For example I'm back here because of the heat changes in the patch notes, which weren't hidden behind sign-in while I skipped all the previous events because of it.

And yea, misleading bait title, should try something less obscure/baity next time to avoid attracting certain audience.

Hmmm I type the first letter of my login and my browser remembers the credentials I used. I click on the password and it brings up use password for said login name. Two seconds and it's done. Doesn't seem so hard to me, but whatever...
