Greetings, mech warriors and nascar drivers (these two being separate of course).
I've got 1200 MC waiting for the next mech bay discount to spend it on 8 mech bays, when that discount comes.

I'm looking for any suggestions and builds etc you pilots enjoy for one reason or another, and if possible share any stories you have about it if you so desire Posted Image
No Champion or Hero mechs please. Any champions I own are PGI event mechs and the one Hero mech is a regret.
Thank you for any and all suggestions Posted Image

Mechs I currently own are:
PIR-1 (Piranha)
UM-R60 (UrbanMech)
NVA-S(C) (Nova)
HMN-B (Huntsman)
SHC-PRIME(C) (Shadowcat)
ARW-A (ArcticWolf)
HBK-IIC-A (Hunchback IIC)
HBK-4G (Hunchback)
EBJ-A (EbonJaguar)
TBR-WAR (TimberWolf)
SNS-A (SunSpider)
MDD-PRIME (MadDog)
MAD-3R (Marauder)
MCII-1 (MadCatII)
SNV-A (SuperNova)
KGC-0000 (KingCrab)
FNR-5 (Fafnir)

You have a nice selection of clan mechs and some heavier IS
IS lights and Meds are good, so I would pick up one of those.

I really like the missile javelins for backstabbing shenanigans, commando/locust/flee for gotta go fast, or wolfhound for general viability

Med wise, Bushie or Shadow hawk are fun in either ballistic or SRM loadouts, assassins are devistating, and crabs are tanky SOBs

you could use another IS heavy as well - I would go with warhammer or rifleman as they are pretty fun and versatile

While you said no heroes, with your current stable of mechs you might want to take a look at the Steam Sale of the Solaris 7 pack. You only have an Urbanmech and Mad Dog, and the Solaris 7 Mad Dog has CT energy hardpoints. You'll get good value for your money, plus if you haven't qualified for the Javelin the Solaris 7 pack will qualify you for it.

For spending c-bills I'd suggest looking at a Bushwacker (either X1, X2, or P2 to run big ballistics like 2xAC10s, 2xLB10X, AC20, and Heavy Gauss, or the P1 for SRMs) a Rifleman, and a Crab for a playing experience a bit different from most of your mechs to help fill some gaps. You don't have many long, narrow torsoed mechs like the Bushie and Crab, and you don't have a second line gunner like the Rifleman. A Griffin 2N would probably be good for your stable too, being a jumping ECM Inner Sphere mech that does SRMs or MRMs well. A Javelin 10P (if you like missiles) or Wolfhound (if you like energy) would be good if you want to add some light mechs.

On the Clan side you might want to get a Hellbringer and Kit Fox to flesh out your Clan stable.

Now so you know I only use Inner Sphere mechs.
I highly recommend a Bushwacker, they have amazing hitboxs and are the strongest medium mech the IS have. Even after the armor nerfs. They are very versatile you won't be disappointed.
If you are after a 40 tonner, Assassin is a great striker and also has really good hitboxs.

Grab a Warhammer or a Grasshoper if you are after good IS heavies. Again both have good hitboxs and hit mounts. Every one should own a Warhammer 6R. Such a flexible and versatile mech.

Lights, Javlin's, ravens and Wolfhound are my favorites.

Assults not really my thing so can't give you any advice there.u

NTG - one of the most versatile mechs in the game IMO. Assault level firepower in a heavy mech with JJs. Can run Dakka, missile, laser / Gauss at all manner of ranges. Best served at skirmish range.

HBR - still one of the best heavy mechs in the game depsite repeated nerfs. That said it is only really good at Laser, nothing else.

GHP-5H - You want a good / fun laser heavy? This is it. 3LL / 5ERML. JJ and LFE. Tanky and reasonably fast. Can also do HPPC if you wanna play around. One of my fav mechs on the IS side.

BLK - Again only good at laser but you can MPL boat and brawl in it or go longer ranges with laser and skirmish, a good fun mech, although it's pitch sucks donkey nuts as do weapon mounts due to PGI rescale failure. I still enjoy mine either way.

That rounds out some heavies and, IMO, heavy mechs being quite strong in the current climate of the game simply because of how savage map rotation (NASCAR) has become over the past 3-4 months because of the lowering of the skill within the playerbase. All the mechs above have enough speed to not be left behind

I´d get the Linebacker as pretty good allrounder, a Warhammer to brawl and a Bushwacker for those double Rac 5.

I would add ...

Roughneck (several options in variant) super tanky I.S. heavy with several options for high weapon mounts.

Vindicator X1 (absurdly quirked 45 ton mech)

Piranha PIR-2 (60 point laser alpha on 20 tons of mech do the math on rear armor + structure of targets and see how fast side torsos melt away)

Griffin 2N (ecm medium with high missile hardpoints)

I LOVE my Commando, that little bugger annoys the other team. Hard to hit and you can run circles through the entire enemy team and live!

Some type of fast, jump-capable light wouldn't be a bad idea- right now you have a fast light, and a jump-capable light, but there's no overlap between their roles; the Urbie is a tanky pocket medium, while the Piranha is a glass cannon striker/flanker. Something quick with jets would fill in the gaps where neither one is particularly good.

The Arctic Cheetah would be a good choice if you want a Clan 'mech; it has options for ECM, and is good for either pure laser or mixed laser/MG builds. For a fast, jumpy IS 'Mech, the Javelin would be a good pick right now, because it can take a decent amount of weapons (unlike the severely under-gunned Spider) while offering a smaller target profile and/or better hitboxes than the jump-capable 35-tonners.

Shadowhawk!

It's pretty tanky, relatively maneuverable, has high, mostly tors-mounted weapons, and it looks bad-*** AF.

I prefer the 2D2. LB10 and 4SRM4 makes for an excellent splat brawler. If I'm feeling frustrated with my performance, I hop in that and regularly pull 3+ solo kills. Almost always make 400 damage, even in a poor game. 4 missile HPs also means you could make a decent LRM5/10 boat out of it if that's your jam.

High energy hardpoints in the 2K gives you a perma-meta mech.

High ballistic hardpoints in the 2H lets you run some fun builds. I don't have one atm, but my friend gets a kick out of 3RAC2s.

Always Urbie, It's always the answer.

Not the R60 though, unless you're using it for MG. Use R60L for your meta laser needs, and the R63 if you like ballistic builds, the R68 for missile builds is actually a good choice too.

The DRG-5N is on sale right now, 45% off. It's UAC jam chance reduction is so superior, it's DPS is nearly on par with a 6xAC2 Annihilator, even though you can only fit 3xUAC2 on it.

Seconded. It's just a fun to play mech. Reinforces good twisting/soaking skills.

You can also do 3 rac2, if you're too lazy to click the button.

Every garage needs a Piranha, Bushwacker, Hellbringer, Ebon Jaguar, Marauder IIC, Annihilator, and -- if you have the MC for it -- a Sleipnir and a Deathstrike. Looks like you have most of that already and then some, but I can't stress how great of a Mech the Bushwacker X1 and X2 are. Easily the best Inner Sphere Medium Mech in the game, and nigh unrivaled when running RACs until you start getting to meme setups like a 4x AC2 + 2 RAC5 Annihilator.

A lot depends on your intentions..

If your thinking of buying more and possibly mech packs only pick mech variants that come from the reinforcement packages, not the main standard options, unless you want to have two's of..

other than that, which you think you'll enjoy most, with your skill levels and how you feel you'll improve..

WLF-2: Been running mine lately with 6x ERML and LFE as opposed to the typical 5x MPL. Good combination of durability, speed, range, and heat efficiency.

CDA-2A: 6x ERML. With an XL 300 it runs pretty cool with generous range and mobility.

VL-5T: Not out for c-bills yet but I've been pretty impressed with this mech so far. I run mine with 1LPL and 4ML. It has JJs, good mobility, decent range, and is fairly durable.

RFL-3N: 2x UAC5 and 4x ML. One of the few heavies I like these days.

Thank you all for lovely recommendations. I am a huge design buff when it comes to mechs so I'll be taking that into consideration as well. You've all given me quite a list of mechs to play around with, and since I'll have 8 new slots on the next mech bay discount I'm glad I'll be able to test many of them :)
