If certain mechs can fire a 50 damage pinpoint salvo using dual heavy gauss with no heat penalty, why can't certain mechs with the ability to carry two AC20 be able to do the same? It would provide a decent counter to those mechs that can currently carry dual heavy gauss as well as increase the viability of other assaults.

If you did that, there would be a bunch of 70-ton mechs just absolutely wrecking face, not to mention the VTR-9A1.
Dual heavy gauss is only viable on assault mechs with standard engines, so they're incredibly slow & susceptible to long-range fire.
