Add a "Random Mech" button to the Favorites Selection Menu.
Sends list of Mechs that the User is willing to play to the server instead of just one.

System then has even more Mechs to match the various Light/Med/Heavy/Assault ques.
User controls which Mechs (favorites) that they send up as a group.

Already pretty much have Random Map (and no correspondence with Mech Chosen) - let's just go full Random Mech to make it even more chaotic.

I've been behind this for a while only slightly different.

Add a QuickPlay DropDeck:
  • You assign 4 'mechs, one from each class (L/M/H/A)
  • Click Play
  • Matchmaker goes about its business finding you a game.
Makes it easier on the match maker as it has more to choose from and mixes things up a little for those who like a little variety.

For the try-hards, they can still drop as a single mech (personally, given the choice, I'd place them back of the matchmaker queue as punishment for being so restrictive on the MM).

lol.

Right, lets make sure new players queue last, because that is what that does.

I get that you don't want to play against people at your level of skill or beyond, but the way to do this is to fix the ******* match maker and for you to tank yourself into a lower bracket.

That's cute, you assume it's a skill thing. No, I just favour variety. Encouraging players to use mechs from all weight classes is a good thing in my opinion.

If you're that worried about new players though, the "back of the queue" feature could always be disabled for tiers 5 and 4, would that make you happy? Notice how that bit was in parenthesis though and stated as a personal opinion seperate from the main suggestion, I'm aware it would be controversial for the one-mech-wonders out there. Clan Crocodile tears and all.

It absolutely is a skill thing any time you refer to an entire subset of the community as "try-hards," as if playing to win the game hurts your delicate sense of self worth in a video game.

Under this system I would just drop the 4 strongest mechs I have, because actual "try-hards" play a variety of mechs in an effort to expand their skill set.

If your intention is to punish meta players, that isn't going to work. Its only going to punish new players by potentially forcing them to drop trial mechs even after they've ground out their first mech, all because you don't want to face a legitimate threat.

Actually, I'd love this.

For the last few Seasons I've only rotated 2-3 'mechs per weight class anyway, in an effort to play something different each month and figure out which 'mechs I should just sell because I don't enjoy them. I'd rather have an empty bay than a cluttered selection screen Posted Image

Bring on the D[number] rolls!
