That's a shame if true. I know in the past they sometimes released a new mech just randomly out of the blue in the middle of the month. Maybe they have a classic pack planned for Mech Con in December then? I would hope 2 IIC's and 2 IS Classics if that is what they are planning.

I would think if they were planning something big, it'd be IS Omnis, but it does seem that if there isn't a 'mech this month, there could be a pack at MechCon.

I think it's very important for MechWarrior 5 to have a good showing at MechCon, and if it means holding off on a mech for one month to make sure you have the manpower to crush bugs and make sure MW5 is as feature-complete and stable as you can make it then it's the right call.
Or they could announce a mech next week. The Champion wasn't announced until July 11th. With the Warhammer IIC early adopter lasting until November 30th I think they may have planned before its announcement to not have a November mech though. If so it might've been better to announce that earlier to prevent any 'sky is falling' paranoia, but c'est la vie.

Also the announcement could come on Monday the 5th, etc. I'd say no later than sometime next week they'll announce it.

The current population of MWO is less of a factor than the population of MWO after the release of MW5, but in thinking about it I have a highly speculative guess with absolutely no evidence as to its validity. The premise is that to generate sales for both MWO and MW5 there should be cross-promotion between the two games, giving players who prefer single player games an incentive to try out the PvP MWO and give those who prefer the PvP aspect of MWO incentive to try MW5.
I'm thinking the crew that would normally be doing the November mech may be tasked to do some sort of package or collection of assets that links MW5 and MWO. I previously mentioned that as a cross-promotion MW5 buyers should get with their purchase a Shadowhawk SHD-7CS for use in MWO because the Shadowhawk was used in the MW5 videos and the 7CS is a 3066 variant consistent with MWO's current timeline, but it would require creating the variant and creating the Improved C3 Computer for MWO (which would open up more mechs that use the I3CC to be released in the future).
Or it could be some other project which links MW5 and MWO, like maybe achievements in the MW5 single player campaign giving rewards in MWO (for example finish a MW5 playthrough, get rewarded with a mech and mechbay in MWO). Just throwing out things off the top of my head, but it's plausible.

What would that have to do with drawing a mech and taking preorders?
In fact the concept arts have been drawn for ages, it's not like Alex is sitting around twiddling his thumbs.

The population I was talking abut was PGI's staff !!! Not enough people to construct MW5 and field new mechs !!!
Corporate population.

That makes even less sense. We know for a fact that there is an established pipeline for moving models from MWO to MW5. This means there is literally no reason to not first make the mech for MWO, thier primary income stream, and then to just pipeline the mechs to MW5 as needed / wanted. We also know that they've built an entire new team for MW5. They're on record that they've doubled their team size and as we all know (most of us anyways) that double is 2 times and that there are 2 games, that works out.
I am sure a lot of expertise was shared between the two teams, but there is an entire second dev team as big or bigger than the MWO team working on MW5 specifically so that they can continue to maintain and develop MWO.
The very last thing that they will sacrifice in the MWO team is the guys working on the primary income stream of the entire company. And we're still pretty far away form that considering the decent amount of changes in each month's patch notes, from balances changes, map fixes, bug fixes, model fixes, updating old models to the new weapons, NEW quirks, new cosmetics; cockpit, decal and bolt ons.
Everyone knows how much you hate MWO/PGI but be careful you don't get unhinged.
