Technically, the changes to the heat system buffed Clan lazvom.

Seeing how people are completely fine with IS having 10 tons of advantage over Clans in FP, I think Clans still need nerfing. ;)

Clan base tech is still clearly superior than IS, while many top performing IS mech quirks were recently nerfed.

Lasers were going to be nerfed but the changes meant to curtail them somehow managed to only make them better. Clanners are still very good.

Max laser alpha output was nerfed (kind of), but you can shoot more often

There are things for both clan and IS that work really well, and things that don't, neither side is really superior overall right now, so if you expect "easy mode" by sticking to clan mechs that's not the case anymore

They nerfed some damage on I think the heavy large. But the increased dissipation is working out better for all parties. It's not as decisive a nerf to alphas as it was on the PTS. However it makes laser dps builds more attractive rather than purely max alpha.

Considering there was very little to no complaining about the changes. I'd say people are generally happy with recent changes. Including some mobility buffs to select mechs.

Like sand people, the worst of the entitled clams are easily startled, but in this case did not return in greater numbers. The neutral peeps who simply want more viable chassis to play on both sides just don't give a fark anymore.

too little too late

About the same to little better for clan assaults and lights. I still use all of them without much issue.

Your bias is showing ;)

Clans heat effency got a nice buff not long ago, add to that they got a slight reduction in damage. So you can fire a little more often but not a huge diffrance. They still have paper armor and huge burn times.

Yes, I for one happy and even started playing again. Heat is still a factor but now you spend more time doing fun stuff than waiting when your heat drops.

Though nerf to heavy large laser was uncalled for and it removed yet another gun from the game. PGI's being PGI.

For you maybe. HLL is still a very useful weapon.

I haven't, and many Mercstar players still use HLLs. 4 tons for 16 damage is still a great deal, especially since Clan heat under the new system cools off much faster for mechs with 24+ heatsinks.

Still use it on a bunch of builds as well.

Full laserspam with DHS boating got buffed, even PPC + DHS boating got buffed.
On the other hand, having minimum heatsinks + backup lasers got nerfed.
Overall i think IS and Clans are fairly on pair.

Same. 2 HLLs and 2 SRM6 on my Linebacker, then filling the rest with heatsinks, is quite a fun skirmisher.

At that point why wouldn't you just use 6 ermeds?

I just switched from IS to Clan for Faction Play and I dont consider clan mechs inherently superior. There are some real mean mechs on either side, and very few useless mechs overall. The meta shifts in a way where you're better off finding playstyles you enjoy. I guarantee you'll find a mech you really like in either tech base
