I've been convinced by others that 10 damage would make it *too* good for the range and heat profile, but 9 should strike a good balance. The AC10 family are easily my favourite ballistics in the game and even I don't run LGauss on more than 2 builds.

9 dmg and the ability to charge & fire 3 LGrifles and I'd say we have a winner.

4 LIGHT GAUSS only have 32 damage, almost same as two regular gauss (30 damage), while occupying 6 more crit slots and 8 more tonnage and 2 more weapon mounts (just for a bit of range and ROF), and it is not as "pinpoint" due to convergence...

Heavy Gauss has much MORE alpha damage than quad lgauss and it still occuppies less tons and slots.

Quad Lgauss should be allowed, there is quad AC10 ("pinpoint"), UAC10 (up to 80 alpha) and LBX10...

On the IS side there are no mechs that can effectively load 3 GR (45 ppfld) and not become a troll build.

I like PROTECTOR with 32% gauss cooldown and 22% energy.

Don't you people see that you can take a King Crab and place FOUR LIGHT GAUSS on it.

Do it.

Now you're winning MWO!

quad lg builds are actually pretty good. one pair cools down while the other charges up. so once you have completed one salvo the other is ready to go and can fire continuously. its the dps weapon of the gauss family. not as rapid firing as ac2s. but it does focus a lot of damage into one spot. and its easier to aim because you dont get a bunch of shots blocking your view. i think its a good tradeoff. its only down side is its weight.
