Not saying the game absolutely needs it, but I am saying the above combination of settings was one of the most popular server types in MechWarrior 3 and 4, if not the most popular. Just seems weird to still not have it as an option in Solaris, and to be forced into team last man standing all the time.

How about also adding invincibility then, that way nobody has to die and we all get participation trophies after 60 minutes of complete boredom.

Considering this is also the same forum housing stubborn HOTAS-waggling old men that cry about LRMs, Piranhas other and zero quirk Clan Mechs, it's best to take the average forum post with a spoonful of salt.

Having a mode with wacky, completely broken Mechs competing against other equally overpowered Mechs was honestly some of the most fun I had in the early 2000s. The only thing better than 16 Flamers instantly Stackpoling Assaults on a flying MASC Bushwacker (MW3) was a Black Lanner with 40 Inferno SRMs coring out Black Knights in similar fashion (MW4 MP3.1). It was a huge part of MechWarrior's definitive multiplayer experience, and simply a shame that we've lost the more light-hearted part of the franchise.

Just go play War Robots. That's their literal formula for success. One overpowered, completely broken robot bashing another and another and another, completely broken robots.

Change 'mode' to game, and something for 2018, and you just described War Robots.

There are a lot of things this game needs before they add to the barely used lobby system stuff that will also likely be barely used.

Direstars and Gigadrills would essentially win 100% of the time

Popular does not equal good.
It's trash.
End.

It would probably be possible
If PGI can do stock mode they could probably do this at least in the private lobby.

However it has takes months to implement simple changes like an increase in FP conquest tickets from 1250 to 1500.
Or the refresh friend list button that does not work.
Or the height of content this year was bumping double heatsinks to a dissipation value that actually corresponds to the name.
(As a side note: whatever happened to true dub being too powerful?
I remember Paul or Russ whining that with true double heatsinks a Jenner D can core out an Atlas in 3 alphas or so, didnt even have clans back then.)

At this point bringing back the old maps is seen as new content and we can be lucky if PGI puts any work into anything MWO related

And this feature isn't that much requested, hence rather unlikely to ever appear.

I'm fine with NH/UA in private servers. But there should be a 25MC service charge for enabling it every match. People don't give out cigarettes for free so why shouldn't you pay for your cancer.

I remember a mod for Quake 3 Arena where every weapon caused massive explosions, fired at the rate of a chaingun and people just played it occasionally for the laughs. I don't think MWO needs something for laughs. It needs sustainability.

If you want one shot kills, go play a FPS.

Power creep partly due to Clans. Partly due to mechs with far more hardpoints. Remember when 30 damage was the max alpha allowed by ghost heat? We have 50 or 60 now and mechs are not really much more durable except lights.

I think the game was more fun back then.

Anything before Clans is superior.
