"Properly" played, Escort matches last all of 120 seconds because the defenders cannot possibly kill the attackers before they bore through the VIP if the attackers are focusing it.

Well whos job is it to defend the VIP? if the defenders cant be bothered to get in front and make a push then they deserve that loss

Hahahahaha, "good mode". It didn't even work half the time. The VIP would get stuck on a rock and wouldn't move. The objective thinking was voting against it.

Id say thats PGI's fault for not pathing the vip correctly than the mode being bad. they should have tested the darn thing before launching it

How can they, when the VIP is dictating that they go to stupid positions?

I didn't mind escort mode, and in all the times I played it I never once saw the VIP get stuck on anything except other players running into it.

I suppose one thing that could be done to "improve" if would be to give the Atlas a few guns and a hit rate of 80% or something. Might solve the lone gunman finding it and cutting its legs off whilst everyone else is off skirmishing like madmen. Although it's always amused me when a player actually plays to the mode, meets the objective, wins the game, and other players get salty.

Its up to the defender to adapt to the situation even if it means the VIP leeroys in. If VIP goes in then team defence has to push, plus the defenders get radar towers and turrets theres no excuse to not be agressive in defending the VIP with such advantages

if you have ever played CW you would know that focus fire is crazy good when used right.

As Yeonne said if played properly there isnt any way for the defenders to actually win. Effectively one side must kill 12 mechs and the other must kill one. if the attackers completely ignore the defenders than (unless they suck) they will win, its obviously far easier to kill one mech than 12.

The only chance the defenders have is to rush the attackers and even then only one attacker needs to get past. in most PUG games one of the main reasons defenders end up winning is both teams basically forget about the Fatlas and just shoot each other.

Its the one mode where if everyone played the objective the defenders would mostly lose, assuming roughly equal skill.

EDITED: the mode is fundamentally flawed, off the top of my head adding a second Fatlas to the other team would at least somewhat balance things, both teams would have to try kill the others Fatlas while protecting their own (im guessing that you would also have to make them walk towards each other or both teams could end up very far from each other). Assuming of course both teams dont just rush off and nascar into each other
