I don't know which OS you are using, but if it's Windows 10, it might be helpful to set MWO launcher's compatibility to Win7..

Go to the Portal/Steam icon, right click, properties, choose compatibility tab, and set as Win7..

This fixed my fiancee's laptop - She was getting literally 2fps, now it's more like 50-60..
