When the battles die down and the wars end there's no other way to make money as a battlemech pilot other than using Industrial mechs from battle field salvage to repair and construction in a city, the job may be dull but it's good money.

I know mechwarrior has always been about war and battles but a nice change of pace would be piloting industrial mechs or even security mechs on simple missions, maybe this could be worked into MW5 even.....

simple things like cutting down trees with a woodcutting mech or plowing or harvesting a field with a farming industrial mech could be a nice PVE effort to earn some small amounts of c-bills.

when the nBattle is over and the Dust of war is fallen ... the Mercenarys villains disappear and the Planet population starts to grow up and farms .. and, most likely, whoever wants to fell trees and collect or harvest vegetables in the game ... who wants something Farmville should play and no Kampfgame.
me itself makes in Fallout 4 yes, the settlement building more fun than fighting, but harvesting the vegetables is quickly the annoying "must be just" task. 'and trees I do not want to fell there also, something is nice for survival games like Ark or Open World Games with settlement development, but not for a campaign fighting gamewith single Missions.
Felling trees and harvesting vegetables is boring even in Ark death.

ok for harvesting and Vegetables you must not have a AI

Interestingly, at the most it would be possible to strategically build or expand such settlements and towns in the campaign, and then align AI with the opponents (eg in the next attack with heavier units).

Well. Speaking about Civilian Mechs. Those would be good for PVE Combat. As well as those Tanks from that Turn based BATTLETECH Game, that came out more recently.

Would be nice to have a game mode in MWO. Which saturates the map with targets. Low Powered low threat targets.
This game mode would resemble a much more active Battle Field. Like you were in a real war zone.
Maybe call the game mode that. War Zone.
