Hey what mechs should i get that are on sale? (i need IS mediums and lights)

i only have like 6 mediums and there all clan so.. i would like close med long range mediums to get

The current Winter Soldier sale only has two IS mediums and two IS lights on sale, so...


For meta, the light currently on sale to get is the Wolfhound (specifically WLF-2 and WLF-Grinner).

For mediums you can grab the Griffin for SRM bombing. The Wolverine 7D is great for MRM'ing but I'm not sure if people would call it meta.

The two IS heavies for sale are the Orion and Thunderbolt.

I'd lean more towards the Thunderbolt for its energy boating potential (specifically Top Dog variant for having the most hardpoints and best defensive quirks).

Orions are okay as brawlers but I don't see them much and when I do see them they get turned into LRM boats.

Well I just bought this 9S and it only has 11 nodes on it so its fairly good out of the box. (280STD, endo, 2x LLAS, 4x mlas, 2x AMS, BAP). You are not required to run this exact build. The optional BAP and ammo amounts give you perhaps 2-2.5 tons of freedom.



My go to 9SE is usually a 285 STD + 2x LPLAS + 3x mlas. Others favor the left sided triple LPLAS builds but those have never worked for me.

Ravens are bad. Wolfhounds Arctic Cheetahs and Mist Lynxes are much better.

I do better with Ravens than with ACH or MLX. The Raven has better front hitboxes, the ECM version can run Stealth Armor + MRM40, and the other Ravens can be configured to run more or less firepower and more or less speed, unlike the Omnis.

What's the advantage of the Thunderbolt over Warhammer, Grasshopper, etc., for IS energy vomit?

TDR-5SS can be a good laser boat. Of course, the hero Top Dog is the best for the role.
