I probably will not pre-order, but will wait for a while to get the game.
I hope it is not too short a game, but neither is it too Freaking Long until it is boring and loss interest in it.

But since I don't have such money to throw at a game, I'll wait for reviews and then decide on my purchase.

Prepurchasing has become an absolute cancer in the games industry, spurred on by the brief but powerful kickstarter craze where game developers found just how easily fools and their money can be parted. Now everyone and their mum promises the world so long as it gets their games company through to the next round of funding. Just look at Star Citizen, or even Elite Dangerous, or the nightmare that was No Man's Sky. I absolutely do not trust any game developer as far as I can throw them at this point. If MW5 has local multiplayer coop mode, modability, and a decent single player campaign, then I will buy it.

MechWarrior 5 is a game that they have been building for 9 years. So 9 years writing ideas on napkins, and talks in break rooms. Lets face it 12 vs 12 mech combat is just a taste of the Battletech universe. We got a great 2nd taste from the turn based Battletech.
So I don't think its going to be a bust. Its worth the gamble to pre-order.
What I would like to see is some basic computer system specs. (Makes sense you don't want to pre-order something you cant play.)
Give No Guts No Galaxy some Early pre Alpha test access. Get some basic gameplay out for free marketing.
I think we will be all set. Its the Battletech world. Tanks, infantry, fixed turrets, v-tol aircraft, We may even see aero space fighters. Once you experience the full Battletech world you understand why so many people support this game.
Plus (Who doesn't want to burn infantry out of a building with a Flamer!)

ill be getting it when it comes to console so if it ends up being like crap I can at least get some of my money back by selling it.
last in game videos are console level graphics an both consoles support mouse and keyboard.

The only thing that has me interested at all in mw5 is pgi's claim of mod support. Until its shiped and there are reviews along with videos of the game play that include player made mods I won't throw money down for it. We've all seen how pgi keeps promises they make.

The game is the first campaign driven, SP focused MechWarrior game since 2002, it looks good, and the mechs appear to handle well. There also appears to be a huge selection of mechs in the game to play.
Did I also mention that it was the first campaign driven, SP focused MechWarrior game since 2002 . Sure it has Co-Op, but it is nice to have multiplayer as an option again and not the sole focus.
I will be counting down the days until I can give this game a spin.

I was going to get the Marauder II pack anyway (though I was planning to see if I could win one from one of the various streamers' giveaways ala NGNGtv, RJBass3, Nuttyrat, et al) so it felt like, even if MW5 turns out to be a mediocre (but playable) game I'd still come out even, long run...

Co-op to roll around with 3 others? Check.
Mod support? Getting stuff we currently don't have or will never have for MWO? (Celestials, Swiftwind for lulz, QUADS) Check.
Seems to be great so far, heavily considering a community edition pre-order. And since it's not until September, that means i can enjoy RE:2 / AC7 / etc. in the meantime.

MWO has thousands of hours of my time. The gameplay itself is great, the mechs are just awesome, visually pleasing and immersive (my Urbie has funny post it notes FFS). MWO has gotten a patch ever 1-2 weeks for 7 years. I'm sure at release MW5 will have bugs and issues and such. However access to the developers discord, the closed beta and a metric **** ton of goodies seems like a stupid thing to avoid since sooner or later I'd get it anyway.
Originally I was thinking 'I'll get it later'. Which means I'm just giving up on an equal value in premium time, MC and I probably would have gotten the Marauder II anyway, so why not just get all the goodies now? Even if MW5 comes out and it takes a year to be fun to play, well, I'll already have it and a ton of goodies for MWO to keep me entertained.
