ive had to resort to ssrms and lrms (doing about 600-800 damage now). ive given up trying to aim so many hits just seem to not register damage. it is so dishearterning to feel like youve had a pretty good round. maybe not killed anything, but done ok and then see 80 points of damage.

Streaks and LRMs are the most reliable way to go atm with pings over 200. Im getting 240-300 ping.

If we can do the leg work, find a good, cheap, accessible, secure host and send all the details through it may expedite matters. Anyone know a good place to start

Basically if there are enough people playing in Indonesia / china / Aus / NZ / Japan etc etc then it may eventually happen....(tho I think japan gets 100ms or so to the US so it probably wouldn't improve for them)
Other then that the whole community warfare thing........if they did have a 2nd or 3rd regional server. (oceania + europe) would they all be linked in terms of community warfare ? Or all be on their own version of the Inner Sphere ? Not sure which I would prefer there....
Right now having to fire at thin air to hit fast moving things can be annoying, but afaik most are experiencing this even with sub 80ms pings.
Mainly because hit detection is server side, not client side, but thats not the real problem (it stops cheating and is good for the game overall), the real problem is probably the lag compensation etc is not working right atm, or at least, not how they want it to....the same with a few other things on the server most likely......
Which they have stated they are working on.....which they constantly will be thru the games lifetime.

I could deal with lag before but it's only gotten worse. I have to lead targets by more than half the screen to even MAYBE hit something. STUPID. Completely frustrated.
It used to lag a bit but it was almost unnoticeable. Open beta has completely ruined my play experience with the lag that the patch brought with it.

For example, as a member of ARMD, we've faced premades with 30-40 ping while we sit around 240ish, still hasn't stopped us stomping them!

Keep in mind I am playing in a capital city WITH fibre optic internet... so that 250ms is probably as low as Aussies are going to get.
Once again thanks to piranha for reviving the franchise with an amazing game that we all wanted.

I'm aware it's not "twitch" gameplay and you can play with pretty high pings, I'm only asking for under 350ms or so, so there's no "lag-jumping" of mechs, which is apparently an issue in the current beta.
It's just too many times that I've heard developers promise this or that kind of support for Australian players, and it's never happened, so it's hard to have enough faith to spend 60 of my hard earned dollars on anything yet.
No ones really forcing you to spend anything. The problem is that expanding there servers right now is NOT the priority and it really shouldn't be. Getting it ready for launch and polishing up/adding the main features is what they should/are taking priority on. (Before you say anything, netcode is a part of that.)
The reason why some games wouldn't open Aus servers is usually due to lack of support or just not enough Aus players to warrant it. Hell, even a lack of funds could do it.
NA/EU always take priority, and everyone else is a "If its worth it" scenario.

Surely MWO could follow suit or start loosing players in AUS NZ and SEA to its obvious competition...

For you it might not be so bad. Believe me it is. I have bad enough connections normally to Australian hosted games. I used to be able to play MWO. It wasn't easy but I was competitive. I haven't played in months because after moving house in November my new connection was even worse than the old (even though in others areas such as download speed it's actually faster, my gaming speeds have dropped... explain that).
GOD I want to play some MWO. But when you have to aim move than a screen ahead of an opponent to even have a CHANCE of landing a laser hit then it's pretty bad. That chance is entirely dependant on them not moving and driving in a perfectly straight line. Good luck with that.

Calling Hawken obvious competition is like calling Qalaxy Quest competition to Star Trek. Have you actually played it? MWO has 99 TONS of problems, but Hawken is not one of them.

Not sure if he was saying Hawken was competition. IMO if Hawken (which is NOTHING compared to MWO) can launch with beta servers in AUS then why can't MWO.

Normally I'd agree with you, but I get 300ms to MWO servers and <100ms to Hawken servers...Frustration or Fun?
Anything that has the potential to take their customers is competition. Today the web site is taking almost a minute to update when I click a link, I'm not even going to bother going into a game.
Althought, having seen your edit I'm wondering if your having a similar problem.
