Hi,

My ping has been really bad off and on for the past few weeks.

So I have been trying to use the Ping Indicator that shows when you hover the mouse over the quick play button, to see if i have a low enough ping to play a match right then, or wait for a while for a lower ping.

The problem is that its display is intermittent, sometimes it shows the ping, sometimes that space is blank and shows nothing...

a few times it has shown one of the 3 pings, but not the other 2...

anybody else have this problem....?

I myself have never seen this but again I have never looked for it either. My guess is there was no ping being returned from certain servers or all of them. The first thing I would do if the ping is abnormal is turn off your router,wait 30 seconds and then turn it back on. Sometimes this fixes my abnormal ping. Secondly if you are using WIFI make sure you are using the 5G of the Dual Band, there is less interference with other things using the 2G. Sometimes even changing the location of the PC or Laptop can a steady signal as well. As I've said before I am not good at explaining ideas so others might have a better description or idea of your situation. Other than my suggestion the rest is out of your control and might be an IP issue.

it's my ISP.... and whether or not some one+ in the area is downloading / streaming something. I just want to see in the MWO ping indicator popup, when i have less than a 200ms ping, so that i know that i can play a match or 2 with a reasonable ping.....

when it's blank and not showing me anything, it's hard to tell if i can play or not.....

hopefully the new fiber optic line close to me will be completed soon......

Not sure, but you can always ping the server with a cmd prompt. Tab back in when it seems golden and hit the go button.

F9 displays your current ping, frames per second and map coordinates in the upper left of the screen, both in game and in the mechlab
