I ended up using a Jenner IIC with 6 flamers for 2 matches to get half the damage needed. I got 10 in one of those matches. So if you throw away a couple matches it's not too bad. But for sure the numbers for those weapons are not balanced right. 50 medium laser damage? That's easy.

And it wasn't necessarily a total throw away as if you play your cards right, you can shut down assaults while your teammates destroy them.

My warhawk and direwolf challenges are nearly done.
The only problem is I haven't even used them for at least a few months.

Hope the same problem would knock out my flamer damage challenge :-p

I know right. I played an Adder about 10 matches last night and even with 3 flamers mounted, I am only at 8 damage total toward the event. Maybe this needs to be reduced to 10 damage or something.

One thing I notice is you get completions for things like the weapons usage just for using those weapons on any mech. Basically some of the challenge requirements aren't locked to having to complete them with the specific mech that is part of the challenge. For example, I completed the MPL laser part of the Direwolf challenge by using MPLs on my Adder.

In all honesty I have never been given so many freebies for such little work as I have by Mechwarrior Online... I used to play World of Tanks religiously, and if they were giving away a free premium tank, currency, premium time, etc. then you either had to play the game as a full-time job to get a fairly minimal reward or if it was freely given, quite rarely, it was more often a crappy one. I can play MWO an hour or two a day and still get free premium mechs, free mechs, MC, C-bills, camo, cockpit items.

It's a little bothersome to see people gripe and complain about how "hard" a challenge is or that the reward isn't "big" enough. I have been able to buy several hero mechs with the free MC I have received from these "crap" events, because I am patient enough to wait for sales... The fact that we are practically given rewards for playing several battles is awesome to me, so if you think these events are too hard or that you should simply be given more stuff then you should take a look at other Free-to-play (Fremium) games. This game is far from perfect, but I certainly feel well rewarded for the time that I play.

Okay, I finally got my first chance to head to the battlefields for this Event, and it's also going to finally be my last. All the Chassis that have been picked to Qualify for the Invasion Mech Event are completely underpowered on their underlying natural stats, even with some strong builds that I've thrown on them. Worse, the MatchMaker keeps making sure to place me on Teams that are total cowards who won't communicate/coordinate and fail to keep each other alive, instead opting to repeatedly Nascar until you just want to commit Real Life Suicide. I'm literally in hell here, with no way to completing anything, and I just ain't gonna put up with it anymore. That's it, MWO Community, for you've finally driven me out.

Finished 2 hours ago Now Solaris (but I skip 2 vs 2) - flamers got little more matches (nothing serious - I grabbed MIST, 4 flamers and spam it everywhere, because other weapons where just MG )
