This thread will be thrown into the abyss as a "Farewell" thread, which is against the Forum rules... Just know, that PGI will not read this only the volunteer moderators who honestly don't care if you play or not.

Can't blame PGI if the playerbase is choosing to play Solo... are you asking PGI to Force players to play in group Que? if not there is NOTHING PGI can do about it, quit whining.

PGI hasn't really made an effort to make this game fun for casual groups. They sold 'Community Warfare' as "Hardcore mode" and it classically failed as they continued to under deliver on it and consolidate queues. Hardcore mode sounds great when it's actually a big get for the game. But it turned out to be a flop. And they kinda repeated this with Solaris. Which is also not much of a get for the game. They should have taken a page from Blizzard and catered to casual groups. "Hardcore" is always going to be niche. Making your game more accessible to your average player is always going to be better for the lifeblood of your game.

So it's not surprising that they've diverted all of their efforts to MW5. Which will be PVE and CooP PVE. Even if it's a higher production cost and time between releases. It's going to be more accessible even with $50 price tag. And hopefully coop means it'll spread to friends.

This is a shooter, Blizzard makes story driven games....completely different. Even your retort comes down to the players not playing the mode. PGI can not make the players do anything they don't want to do, unless again you are requesting the players to be forced to play a que they do not wish to play. Most of the players choose to play Quick Play, thats just a simple fact.

It's just a game . Either you like it or not .  Why waste time giving reasons for quitting the game ?

It's not wasting time for someone to document why they left. They are trying to leave a record to show where it might have been stopped because they want the game to pickup but their buddies have gone and new guys get ragged on.

I've come back from maybe 2 years away, I'm a total newbie again and people made a couple of ****** comments about my poor game assuming I was seasoned. Not all the time, just getting out of postilion in assaults for instance. SO the community is harsh but also after mentioning to those guys "hey mang I've been away for ages I'm noob" they were ok.

There is more nascar than I've ever seen as a returning player which indicates to me the player base is probably the most selfish vulture mode it's ever been. I had 2 games in 3 days where I was supported in an assault and friendlies didn't cross fullstream fire or have any awareness about position around assault mechs. Those games were fun. I did on par for my old personal standards and there was a structured fight. I used to be able to stop a nascar with some help in a Assault at a choke point. Now I'm barley lucky if I trade by the time you get into position and early game flankers have taken your armor advantage away leaving only your sustained firepower advantage ( I used to find poking with assaults not optimal if I remember correctly).

Still got lots to relearn, for certain this is just "first impressions" I still have premium time to use and I missed playing mech's can't wait to get good again.
They have a very hard game to balance as a whole product.

They changed some old maps and added new maps, all of which promote Nascar. Remember when Caustic Valley was the only Nascar map? Remember old Frozen City was pretty much fire lines, or old Forest Colony.

He is asking PGI to find a way to make duo queuers to find matches easier. Cause right now it takes too long for two buddies to play together in Group Queue. Which hurts new player retention.

And, as with everything else PGI has done, "you reap what you sow..." And, even more it seems are leaving; or, can't load the last update and can't play.....

Either way, you will see fewer players.....

Ah,another thread.

-Seals complain about getting hit by groups of clubbers in group or faction play.
-Clubbers blame the seal for playing in group or faction play, tell seals to go back to solo play.
-Seals go back to solo play.
-Clubbers complain about not having enough seals to club in group or faction play.
-Clubbers try to circumvent matchmaker by synch dropping so they can go back to clubbing seals.
-Clubbers complain that sometimes they face their fellow clubbers on red team.

Seals followed your advice about where we could go. Will you follow our advice about where you can go?

I've been saying it for years. The thing that hurt this game's growth is the inability to play with friends that are new players. You have to chuck them in the deep end and that just doesn't sit well with most people. It's complicated enough explaining why they can't bring their stupid build or why they have to run max tonnage. But they get their *** handed to them thanks to crappy trial mechs or mechs with no skill points and crappy equipment. Who would want to put up with that for very long against coordinated groups in group queue? So many stories over the years of people trying to bring their friend in and the friends just giving up because they were at such a disadvantage.

So many other things that make it hard to retain new players and expand.

Tried to get an old tabletop friend into this, learning curve tooooo high for busy adults

They haven't done a good job, but they have tried. They nerfed 12-mans in group que. They created scouting for small groups. And they have Solaris for 2-mans.

I think that all of those buckets are a waste of time, and counterproductive.

Nothing could ever have worked with their worthless ranking system in this game.
