Map Polar Highlands, conquest.

Started off directing traffic and for the most part it was going well, until a Mauler decided to try to solo a piranha and a splat arctic wolf. One of the few times I lost it on chat.

Thoughts... was I wrong in my thinking? Also the names have been blurred.

I'm sure a lot of the people I've played with think I'm "losing it" on them... but I legit can't get anything out of using comms unless I'm swearing and also repeating something multiple times.

Just pointing out that it's Polar Highlands, not Alpine, and if you watch it in fullscreen on YT, it's quite clear who does what, so you may get dinged for name and shame.

Otherwise, definitely good points, but most assault pilots don't know how to drive their mechs, so nothing really new here.

All.you can do is try to help. If the dude doesn't listen, then leave him to his fate. No need to get angry.

Mauler was dead anyway, the rest of the team were content to leave the assaults behind. You even clocked this at the 1:50 mark. He had 100pts of alpha coming at him and no way to outrun it. His choices were to run and hope his team would protect him, or fight.

Don't suppose you to took a screen-shot of the scorecard end of match? I'm curious how everyone else did on your team.

Yeah I have the full match, just did not want to post it as the point was that, but we were obliterated, think I was the highest damage at just over 300 but would have to double check it.

"You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink."

No point getting angry at blues who can't grasp basic concepts like sticking with the team. In all likelihood they already gave up on the match as soon as the map selection was done, sp on maps like Polar that many people dislike. I would just leave them to their fate next time. From my experience in pug q, it's almost never worth trying to assist the lone mech that splits off from the team early match. Better to assist those who can pull their weight.

you did the right thing in helpin him out a bit, making that armor not go to waste. And it seems you got out just in time before they focused you down. But its best not to get worked up about it especially in quick play

Roughly half of the people playing Assaults give Assaults a bad name... ;) And I am one of them. ;) Which is why I stopped playing anything other than Mediums and Heavies.

Good effort trying to shepherd him back to safety. Though, when he turned around for the second time and started banging at them, I probably would have just cut my losses and ditched him. The last thing you want is other people's problems becoming your problem.

Oh and nice job mech counting at the start. I never see anyone else do it, but it's super useful.

Yeah mech counting determines what my role as a light will be. 2 or less, harass their back lines, 3 screen initially then harass, 4, screen and protect and when the brawl starts take out their lights. Most of my kills come from taking out enemy lights.

But yeah counting mechs dictates what my personal role is.

Its interesting but players do not know its the same on both sides. Some think I am cheating.

You warned him, but you can fix stupid. He either needs to get a faster robot, or learn that he needs the herd and that in order to stick with the herd, he needs to look at the minmap and cut some of the field.

NASCAR drivers take the inside of the track for a reason...
