Like every damage bug or macro discovery before it... You can tell when it's been publicly reported or demonstrated because everyone and their mother is fashionable sporting the exploit. Posted Image

Except this time it's so painfully obvious due to the pedestrian nature of the weapon before the macro issue was reported and it's widespread usage now.

Folks are not even embarrassed to be caught running them... Posted Image

Not everyone running RACs is using a RACro. They're certainly inviting suspicion by using them while they're still needing a patch, but there's no reason for them to be ashamed if they're not abusing. RACs aren't even that rare, there's several popular and relatively potent builds that utilize them.

True not all running them are guilty of exploiting... It's the builds that defer to it exclusively that immediately stand out.

I... I still don't think that's the right term. I think the word you're looking for is "crap." RACs are crap weapons. Or at the very least they are most of the time because they force you to facetank. If return fire isn't a factor, though, they're actually really good at laying down DPS. But you can still call the quality of that DPS into question as they aren't necessarily great at focusing down a single component on a lot of targets.

Lol. I like the idea of a pedantic weapon.

Fear me and my twin ultra-auto-correct 20's!

I have a 3x RAC2 Hatamoto that I really enjoy running. Can't do it now for fear of being called an exploiter.

That's true in theory and may apply to more competitive environments. But in solo QP at least RAC2s are devastating because 8 out of 12 players can't twist properly to spread the damage and/or won't shoot back because they are scared of the DPS and cockpit blinding. You can easily put three RAC2 on a Bushwacker X1 with XL(!) engine and still duel/facetank almost everything the enemy throws at you as long as you avoid multiple enemies shooting you.

I mean you're not wrong, but the weapon is still inherently flawed. That doesn't mean it can't pull in great performances and be a lot of fun, but it does depend heavily on having the right opportunity... or bad enough opponents. I love my MAD-3R with 3 RAC2, 4 ML, but I probably wouldn't go out and tell someone that it's meta.

You mean like the players running them on dragons or shadow hawks ? Take mechs that rock UACs or straight ACs spectacularly, and then put on RAC's instead when they'd otherwise be a worse choice. Yeah kind of a giveaway that they're using the exploit.

I bring the SHD-H2 for it's 3B Hardpoints to 3x RAC2, not like there's other 3B Shadowhawks out there.

I ran it on multiple mechs, both in the testing grounds and quick play. It is defiantly broken all to heck. I parked my racs till the hot fix or whaterver

you get about a 21-25% (depending on how well you've optimized the macro to ping) dps increase, that really isnt that huge. im not saying its not an exploit, it is and will and should be patched, BUT to say "compare to pedestrian nature".. really? a 20% dps increase is hardly gamebreaking, you get more than that from a TCMKI on a crit slot

it brings the required facetime for a kill from 14+s facetime down to 11 or so on assaults
