I've tried solaris a bit this cycle with a WHR-6r. Generally results were good.......until I ran in to a player with a Piranha. I played three matches against two different pilots. One pilot had less experience and was able to cut him down before he got too close. The person with more experience was able to get in close and chew my legs off twice (on separate nights).

I've been thinking of ways to counter because the fights against him seemed hopeless once he got in tight. One thought is shifting more powerful weapons to arms and going third person to see him better and hopefully hit him close? I just get the impression if you weigh more than 55 tons and you get an experienced piranha pilot you might as well go ahead and suicide. I could try and use terrain a bit better too maybe. Like get up on a platform where he can't get to my back.

In season 1 I played a boomhammer and the way I killed piranha pilots was by being near a ramp and baiting them up, then reversing off and shooting them as I fell. You don't have long though, you are practically toast if a good one gets near you. My advice would be switching to another 'Mech when you are confident you will run into one of those guys.

Makes sense. The one guy sits in the queue for a long period of time....so I guess if i run in to him, I can switch to something lighter.
