Dumping points into the sensor tree on stealth mechs is one of the biggest wastes of nodes you can make. Skill points are too valuable to be wasted like that. Survival, mobility or operations are almost always better choices.

I completely agree with you on this. If you're running stealth you can afford to dip out of sight and wait for the cooldown. If you're in a rush to get back in to stealth you're probably already caught and it won't matter anymore. Using those skills to reduce heat buildup or increase mobility is probably better.

There are valuable skill points in the Sensor tree beyond the two ECM nodes. Missile boats will want Sensor Range or Target Decay. Scout Hunters or Brawlers will want Seismic Sensor and/or Target Info Gathering. A Cyclops with a Beagle Active Probe can stack up Sensor Range with the help of the Tacticon B-2000 Battle Computer. [Pick up Mechs at 1450m+] I find the Sensor Tree to be situational, Mech to Mech.

But not on a stealth 'Mech.

Depending on the build, you're not going to run the Stealth armour 100% of the time. You might as well get the extra benefits of the ECM coverage while that is the case. Like I said... situational, Mech to Mech.

Except when it gets cancelled by TAG, ERPPC etc.
Then you'll wish you have radar derp so you can get back into cover or continue in/out off cover and break the locks. And give you get radar derp to do that, getting the extra ECM benefits also helps when you need to turn it off and cool your mech down, you still have the ECM there.
Otherwise you're easily picked up and apart without any ECM nodes.

If you run a raven/locust with the intend to sneak behind and scout (actual scouting with missile locks) you want to switch in and out of stealth fast hench you want those nodes.
If you run a grinner with the intend to gank on out of position mechs, don't bother the nodes as you won't switch in and out of stealth much.

You don't need to get out of stealth to shoot narc .

i like the ability to confirm, especially if i am the only one upfront without the need to go sub 200 meter.
