"Wares" in online gaming is something you own that you have the opportunity to sell if you so choose to. Became popular with WoW.

Never heard of that term and used to play WoW... too much.
Your urban dictionary doesn't recognize "Wares" and do you have many buyers lined up?

Actually, this dates back to well pre-WOW. Warez was a term for illegally copied and distributed software, either done for free, or illegally resold. This was back during the time when warez might include breaking up a piece of software onto multiple 3.5" disks and mailing the disks to the recipient.

I ran into a few discussions of it back on ICQ.

Anyone under about age 30 has no idea what I'm talking about.

Warez I have used/heard commonly but Warez != Wares?
