Bushwhacker on IS side is a hair short of being called “broken”.

What is this Bushwacker build that almost breaks the game?

Of note, with today's sale, until March 4th the Huntsman Pakhet is 2,345 MC and the Bushwacker High Roller is 2062 MC. Both are really solid hero mechs.

For the c-bill warrior the Bushwacker BSW-X1 is on sale for 3,863,653 c-bills, a huge savings over its 7.7 million c-bill regular price (due to it running an XL engine).

I've been playing a lot more IS mediums lately and I do love me a Wolverine that you can set up as a mini IV-Four.

I'm telling you all, the Vulcan is a beast. The Bloodlust is right on par with the Assassin-21 and the 5T is flat out godly. The agility is incredible. Apart from deceleration, it's got better agility stats than most Lights and is on par with the Flea(!). The 5T isn't as fast or armored as the Wolfhound, but it's got better agility, jumpjets, and carries more DHS. It's so hard to kill even with an XL. I'm just in love with this thing. If you haven't bought a 5T for cbills, do it now, don't even think twice.

VULCAN VL-5T 114 74 40 1.85 230 51 4.51 66,676 261,562 11:48:03

BLOODLUST 16 11 5 2.20 29 8 3.63 8,548 35,038 01:30:48

Those are all funny ways of spelling Stormcrow.

That omni can do it all except jump, and has great armor protection mixed with a great grounyoumans. You can get around easily, hit very hard, and get out quickly. It can outmatch opponents much heavier.

The Mad Dog is also good if you want a 'mech that acts like a medium. At 60 tons, it just trades the Stormcrow's speed for some more firepower, and it's only 5 tons heavier. But that's more for faction play, though. There's a reason why the Mad Dog is one of the most common 'mechs in Clan toumans.

I don't think the Bushwacker is 'the' best anymore. It can be very good but the loss of the armour quirks and not accordingly adjusting the relatively low mobility (for an IS unit) demoted it a bit.
Assassin is still a top Mech if the map allows any kind of SRM-play, the Crab is a very good laser vomit unit, and the Vulcan 5T is an underrated Mech.

Clan Mechs... I don't think any of them qualifies, except perhaps the Vapor Eagle but I have not played it myself so my judgement is flawed atm. I will try it out though as soon as it becomes available for C-Bills.

Again, a funny way to spell Stormcrow :P

The Vapor Eagle made the Stormcrow completely superfluous. The only thing the Scrow can do better is laser vom, honestly.

So I'm doing the 5T wrong with a UAC10 and 4 ML?

Can't speak on that, but 5 MPL does the trick every time.

Basically, yes. 5T is the laser vomit variant and the arms on the vulcans are damage sponges that snap off pretty quickly under fire so having a heavy weapon like a UAC10 in it is asking for wasted tons. More so the 5S variant is the one built for UACs with its UAC jam chance quirk a UAC10 or UAC20 5S can go toe to toe with heavy brawlers like the Warhammer and win a dps race if it dosnt jam.

5S is the only one iv really made use of with a smaller engine(200LE), my Bloodlust and 6M use a chubby 300XL and behave like fat lights and should be played as such. (6M I use 4xMguns, snub ppc, ams and three jump jets but it can exchange all its weapons for a heavy ppc - the baseline quirks of 15% cooldown, 10% range and 20% crit defense are easy to work with)

I think the ASN-26 would be better for that one because its UAC jam quirk is more generic (Vulcan 5S has 20% generic and 10% UAC/5 specific, Assassin is 30% jam chance generic and gets 10% ballistic cooldown) and being more armored for DPS trade exchanges.

Yeah thats fine too, not a big assassin pilot (i think I sold the one I had recently? I'll have to check) but the two compare well (30% jam/10% cooldown vs 20% jam/10% range) - not sure why PGI keeps giving out structure quirks though.

Just bought it because of your hype that is a freaking monster, bit bigger wolfhound with jumpjets.

So, what's wrong with the cicada? The 3m has a laundry list of great quirks, Its all sorts of fast, ECM, the arm flaps are good shields, and the weapon selection is pretty great. I've been rolling 4 er meds with U/AC 5 and having a blast harassing the enemy.

I tried the stormcrow. I'm not very impressed. The speed is great, but its acceleration/deceleration values are too low. And talk about quirks. Uh...Where are they? That said, I enjoy the mech. I just think it has too many flaws to be good.

I do not like the Cicada. I never could get it to work for me. It has the armour of a wet paper bag...

ECM is the best armor.

The problem with the Cicada is its shape and size. It's big and bulbous with easily struck STs that don't twist off damage well. It can go fast, but it's so large that even at high speeds you're highly vulnerable to fire in an open fight. The mech isn't a hopeless cause, it's just the other alternatives have mostly outclassed the Cicada. I think if the structure quirks were changed to armor quirks, it would be a much better mech, but you would still likely be best using it as a ranged skirmisher or squirrel.

The Cicada can be a fun little troll mech that can do okay in mid to long range fights (I use 4 ERML + UAC/2 or RAC/2 on the ECM variant). Not really "meta" material though.

I really wish the 3C variant's ERPPC specific quirks were changed to generic PPC, then that thing would be insane with a Heavy PPC...
