I'm guessing that somewhere on this forum there's a basic guide to the cost of skilling up mechs, for those of us too impatient to earn XP the hard way. However, I haven't been able to find such a guide. So:

NODES

Each node in the skill tree costs: 800 XP + 45,000 CBills
Total for 91 nodes: 72,800 XP + 4,095,000 CBills

CONVERTING XP TO GXP

25 XP => 25 GXP costs: 1 MC
91 nodes cost: 2912 MC

MC IN REAL-WORLD MONEY

UNIT COST per MC for each PACKAGE PRICE and TOTAL COST FOR 91 NODES (2912 MC)
At current rates of exchange, exclusive of any sales:

0.00556 @1,250 MC for $6.95...total: $16.19
0.00498 @3,000 MC for $14.95...total: $14.51
0.00461 @6,500 MC for $29.95...total: $13.42
0.00416 @12,000 MC for $49.95...total: $12.12
0.00310 @25,000 MC for $99.95...total: $11.64

Its been a long time and the old charts are questionable in accuracy anyway. So it is good to see a fresh take made.

This said if you gotta pay to upgrade it...the thing shouldnt be worth having for you. It should be fun to play and upgrade. If it feels like work something is very wrong.

May enlist you to help me figure some conversion methods / formulas for other Space Money related things.

If you're as marginal as I am...hell, that's being generous: I've never broken even on either W/L or K/D...then that extra three or five percent on speed or armor that makes the game playable is well worth the investment.

True but if it isn't fun to play in order to upgrade it...it was kinda bad to begin with right?

The skill shrub can be deceiving.

You dont need to level up all nodes on certain mechs.

Structure on most mechs.

Sensors if you want ECM or Radar Derp.

Ammo nodes are nice.

Rest is to-taste if you are just casual play. Most players wont notice 15% range on weapons, or cooling.

In my opinion, if you can't do decent in an unskilled mech (if judging purely on your performance not lack of teammate performance and wins), then you probably won't do fantastic when it is leveled up. The hardest part is coming up with a build that is enjoyable and effective. I play around with builds a lot. I don't like playing the same thing over and over.
