This is a funny thread.... I've been playing a little bit and all I see are laser meta's that shoot and over-heat every time they shoot ! It's silly..... And, LRM mech's have been really scare when I've been playing as well........change or no change.
What, are ATM's not guided, no skill weapons ? From what I've seen, the game has two major configurations that are extreme in both: Power and Missile. Rarely a "balanced mech" is seen and when there are "balanced load outs", those pilots are the last remaining combatants. Of course, we almost only fight in urban or closed terrain maps.......... And, when a polar or open maps is selected, the number of mechs that can't defend themselves from missiles is absurd..... They just die.
I haven't really used LRM's or ATM's since I've been back.......mostly Streaks in my Huntsman PA - because it is fun to hunt lights and late game is where the lights have a greater influence....
OP: yes, I like missiles of all sorts..... When can we get the Arrow IV and the Longbow???

Guys there is a reason why there is no clan assault mech with 6+ missile hardpoints.
After this change I bet they introduce one in April.

Zero clue why people want one of Battletechs staple weapons to suck.

Prime + D = 6 Missile hardpoints
Bane would have the issue of having all missile hardpoints in the arms.

So having played with lrms for a couple days I gotta say I don't like the direct-fire lower trajectory change. At least in 40% of instances I would have preferred my LRMS to go the higher arc rather than direct. Direct-fire low arc is either causing my missiles to entirely, or at least a significant portion of them, hit terrain. Even if I see just a hair of the enemy, my missiles all fly low right into a wall. IT MAKES NO SENSE. This lrm change was unnecessary and uncalled for. We have ATM's and MRM's if we want this kind of missile play. Did anyone even ask for this change?
PGI, please implement a toggle that allows the user to select what arc he wants his missiles to take.
Thank you.

As a lrm boater who can't play the game due to hardware issues any one have videos testing of lrm angle changes on canyon network testing ground using the IS lrms by launcher size at diffrent ranges? With and without bap? With bap and tag no atemis etc?
A through video of testing would be interesting to see. I sure do miss the catapults.
