Trash Player: Remember that one time... I got a kill?
Rubbish Player: I 'member! Man, you killed him soooo hard!
Trash Player: ikr. Let's start a brown sea thread!
To be fair... terribad players will remain terribad regardless of the weapon system or the mech they're in.
There's a story here - I know this guy who used to play MWO. Basically too casual to grasp the basics. The three months he appears on Jarl's, he was ranked in 11%... 3% and 2%.
One day he saw me racking up damage with the AWS-8R and started asking for LRM builds.
After several attempts to dissuade him from the idea, I eventually cave in and give him the build.
So we jump into the group queue, me in a spotter Raven and him in the AWS...
... so we drop onto Forest Colony. I paint targets for him. He's not firing. I NARC targets for him. He's not firing. Since he's not firing, I end up getting shot for my trouble rather quickly.
I spectate him and... what the fuuuuuuu? Not only he's playing with arms locked and parked his mech in a static position (despite explicit instructions to the contrary, since I explained to him how to play the mech before we dropped), he's completely blind to terrain. As I spectate, he looks up at the H7/H8 spire, measures it... and tries to shoot the enemy with his LRMs' flight path completely blocked by the rock.
Driving a mech armed with 3xALRM-15 and 2xML, he finished that match with 15 damage. No, this is not a typo.
