Need a track mode, so those that don't want to play with their team and just run in a circle leaving their slower team behind to be cored in the back, A place to play. and away from those that want and set up a fire line and look at their enemies in the face.

[Redacted]

maybe I should had stayed on a break from the game longer, then coming back to that crap of play

okay got that off my chest, nothing can be done about it, just had to say it

If only there was a mode where you didn't have to depend on a team. Where success was completely dependent on personal ability. Or maybe if there was a mode where you could pick your team mates so that you could guarantee you'd be dropping with players that would work together. /s

Unless you're going to run pure meta 100% you can't really complain about the tactics that other players choose to use. You're also playing sub optimally, you just think it okay in one case (builds/mechs) rather thank another (positing/movement). If you're getting left behind by NASCAR it's usually your fault.

I had a match where in solo qp where all the lights and meds took off with some of the fast heavies and before we could even get a decent position we were running into the reds light/meds on the tail end... everyone was spread out over atlest 6 grid squares..SIX! That's just a lack of giving of ***** for the rest of the team.

So, I'll drop in a light, kite away, and not worry about it from now on. Because apparently, a assault moving at 68kph just doesn't work in the "YEET/YOLO" morons in game right now.

"Firing Line" in Solo...

Right.

Most players dont even read the MinMap.

Firing Lines are too advanced for the Brain Stem level of tactics in Solo.

Press W or become Light Food. Ride the waves of chaos.

Or, drop call and hope most Blues can read/listen.

The lesson I learned from Nascar is to never stop to helped the slow assaults. Because if you do, you will die just like them.
So now whenever I bring my fast mech and the team starts Nascaring, I will follow them and leave the slow assaults to die.

Buy more engines.

I started to hate the game and almost gave up. Then I bought a bunch of bigger engines, dropped weapons and sped up most of my non-omni mechs. Now I can mostly keep up with the NASCAR, game is more fun.

QP is NASCAR. Nothing said here will ever change it. Either accept it and keep up or die salty.

You know I used to ***** about nascarring a lot and I do it way less these days since I started to call matches and found sometimes on some maps a good solid nascar is the best and easiest strat to pull off. Then you learn how to best avoid getting left behind and even in your slow assaults you can stay alive.

Mid afternoon yesterday, GQ drop on Caustic.
Someone called a counter nascar. We all ran to D5 and managed to actual form a line. The other team also decided not to nascar and did a push over the caldera, coming in right into our middle. It was chaos. Ineffectual LRMers had to run away to get their range back. ATM Vapor Eagles all took flight crossing back and forth over the caldera. Piranhas and Fleas didn’t know who to focus and were running about haphazardly, and the few brawlers were all seemingly shooting at any and all targets of opportunity. It was beautiful while it lasted.

Here is the things I find super annoying about NASCAR as a tactic.

The results of the effectiveness of the tactic are nearly entirely based on what the match maker does and not so much what the players do.

Since everyone is basically going left as fast as possible and shooting the first target they see what determines how successful this is likely to produce a win are factors selected before the match begins. What team has the best performing mechs for the tactics in use.
An additional factor is due to highly predictable nature of the NASCAR all it takes is one highly skilled player to exploit the weakness of the predictability of the tactic...and the match maker decided what team that player was on and nothing the other 11 team members did.

And the next most annoying thing is trying to get a team to STOP using a losing tactic or to alter the rotation to exploit a weakness the enemy has presented ( you know active choices made by players and not statistical likelyhoods set by a match maker) When it comes a time to make a choice the players typically will just keep rotating even when it's an obviously stupid plan.

So yeah...I see some validity to complaining about a team of randomly selected players who drew the short straw on the statistical likelyhood of winning a NASCAR and even when this is painfully evident they still spoon feed the enemy an easy victory because it's easier than making a real choice based on a current situation and alter tactics.

P.S. If only the group queue had some semblance of order in match building. As it is now it's grab some groups summing to 12 make team red...grab some other groups summing to 12 and make team blue...no bother with tier or tonnage or mech class or group sizes or anything it's just 12 random players in groups summing to 12 vs 12 other grouped players summing to 12. No match building mechanic at all.

How is this any different from any other tactic in QP?

I think it is just the sheer idiocy I see in games that gets to me at times. I mean when you look at the minimap and see half your team trying to hold a firing line against the enemy deathball, while watching the half just running further and further away from the fight just to insure they are continuing the NASCAR can be infuriating. The worse part is if they would just flipping stop circling, take a hard 90 degree turn to the left and come straight back into the enemies flank, we would likely catch them out of position and dominate but nope, they have to keep circling at a fixed distance from the center because apparently that is all they know how to do. Also, what is a minimap? you mean that distracting thing on my HUD? Yeah no time for that gizmo. It just makes you want to throw you keyboard at the wall.

First you need to teach them how to make a game mode. I mean, do you really want to risk another Escort? Really?!
