screw the rest. They require actions from other players (shoot down UAVs) and/or a great deal of luck from a borked matchmaker.

I really hope English is your second language. Now, what the hell do you mean in this post?

tbh I've found one or two long range guns/mrm/atm for poking out early in fights with a decent 2-300m load out works fine for long and close range, with the long range either providing supplemental damage up close or just not taking a lot of the close range resources.

I assume this is what they meant btw.

Is it not obvious? For the current event carry a balanced load out and being a flexible pilot are the only achievements entirely up to the player. All other achievements in this event are dependent upon other player actions, like shooting down 20 enemy UAV's which requires 20 different enemies to launch UAV's an/or other extreme cases of luck dependent solely upon a borked matchmaker.

ooooooooooo, thats what you meant.
thought you were more about stuff like pure brawlers B&Ming about not being able to close snipers at the start and stuff, and long range/snipers getting run down and burned cause they can't provide close range fire due to cool down or heat issues so instead building a mech that can provide both without more then minor sacrifice, like long range damage low but usable until the fight gets up close, etc.

Carry a single ppc on any mech with arms and shoot them down. Lol nothing to stress about. A UAV has 10 health, ppc do 10 damage.

I used a Raven with 1 ppc and 3 medium lasors and did the mission easily. Gl

That's usually the code for a terribad, non-viable bracket build.
Running several specialized mechs works just fine for the event.

Shooting down UAV events are my fav thing PGI does... otherwise UAVs are ignored by you pug teams 99% of the time

i dont think im going to go after the 500. im just trying to level these 7 mostly horrible mechs so i can add them to the other 250 less horrible mechs. a thousand xp and a small number of cbills really isnt worth it.
