Those mechs that "carry" the team are generally the ones with good mobility, great armor, and have a high alpha strike. Most of the times I have achived this sort of "leading my team to victory" (or getting those "How could you have messed that up!" moments where despite everything you do your team manages to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory) were always in my 90 ton IS assaults (Highlander, Cyclops, and Victor on occation) , My 90-95t Clan assaults (namely just my Highlander IIC and my MC MkII), and some of my better 75 ton heavies (Orion and Orion IIC, Marauder, Night Gyr, etc). Usually these will be the mechs that can carry a large amount of SRMs, but dakka can work infrequently. The key is to keep moving and take any and all opportunity to disable the enemy first. Don't worry about getting those kills, the hungry sharks on your team will make sure to get them. What you need to worry about is pumping as much damage into the enemy as possible to make them either try retreating or give up and overextend at you as they have no other option.

If you out-damage 90% of all other members by double their best scorer, and you and your BAE together have 6+ kills and more than that KMDDs? I don't know.. I guess you can?
no it just means that the game has been dumbed down to a point where bads like you can feel like that. But I guess since you seem to be part of the target audience, it's working as intended.

This.
How often do you see the last two dudes alive, standing still belching lrms at each other until they run out of ammo and then they spent 5 minutes joystick aiming (arm locked) medium lasers across each other's open CTs until one overheats and dies- only to have the match screen show them both with 1200 damage and multiple kills.
Great game you've made PGI.

Never. It would be an awesome sight to behold. Kinda like that time I saw two MC-II's out of ammo and playing bumper mech's till one died. It took a while.

I've seen it quite a few times last year. Maybe not the overheat and die part, but definitely the entire part before that where the last 2 are assaults (at least one of which was a LRMer) without any ammo left, and the one on my team usually doesn't have any laser backups but the other guy only has 1-2 medium lasers left. Bonus points for those few times where that only enemy left is open and red CT.
