So.. Terra Therma... 4xLRM15 Fafnir.. (I know, right?!)...

I shoot well over 10 full alphas from 600-ish meters into a STATIONARY Piranha.. I don't even brake it's armor?!

Seriously?

I hope the incoming LRM changes make this better...

And just so you guys don't label me a LRM noob.. here's what the same mech did just a few matches prior..

(Apparently there's a problem with my pic upload site, imgbb.. so I can't post a pic.. but it was a 3 solo kill, 1378 damage QP game, on HPG no less..)

Note I clearly saw some alphas be ignored on the paperdoll...

FIX THE PIRANHA PLEASE..

If he was a dc he wasnt where you were thinking. 600m is really far, was there cover or ams helping? DCs dont show up correctly in game. Thats why its hard to headshot a dc sometimes. Its a feature. Working as intended.

And lots of folks WOULD label you a LRM noob for taking that loadout on a Fafnir in the first place , and for firing at such a long range. 275-400m is way better for that type of lrm spam.

Was it the Pir with lots of AMS? PIR-A can take 4 AMS. At that range you can get shut down quickly. If so it just shows how easy LRM can be countered.

You can label me anything you want.. nothing in the game should be able to survive 10+ unopposed alphas.. nothing..

Ummm be careful what you lay down as gospel. Assaults survive 10 alpha's from my flea all the time.

At that range you also can't always see what the terrain looks like due to LOD.

I would tell you to move up, but you literally can't pull numbers like that unless you sandbag so you aren't going to stop doing it.

Lights are a small target to begin with, so raining them with LRM's isn't as effective as raining larger targets.

Also with 600m, that's pretty far which allows a LOT of reaction time. There's AMS on the way, not to mention a comfy hard cover, which what the stationary piranha is likely to be at, why it was stationary.

Are you even seeing the LRMs hit? Did you see the trajectory on the way?

Likewise, if it was stationary for quite some time for a puny little light no less, perhaps it was DC? and then connection error as a result?

If there was ever a moral of the story here, it should be Don't LRM-boat slow-*** assaults, and you can expect to lurm effectively beyond 400m.

I wast but will now.

You are the WORST kind of LRM noob. Shooting from too far, expecting others to get you locks, wasting 100 tons of armor 600 plus meters from the fight.

Need I say more?

couple of things, unless you have recorded video, I seriously doubt you shot well over 10 alphas into it, you're probably just not remembering it quite as it was and there are many other factors others noted that may have been in play, but you just didn't read the situation correctly. But overall yes, LRMs spread around small lights like piranha and there's a good reason for that. Lights are very easy to kill when you hit them due to their low armour and structure, one of the reasons they aren't swatted like flies is that their speed and agility makes them hard to hit, as people say their speed is their armour. The lockon LRMs make it very easy to target lights, and completely removes their speed/agility out of the equation. Plus the fact you can shoot them over stuff up to 1k already means that you're really screwing lights over, because the second that light manages to get on an isolated mech, all the lrm boats on the map can target them. LRMs should definitely not be good against lights, I'd argue they are still too easy, they're the easiest weapon to target lights with along with ATMs and streaks, but at least those have range limitations and don't shoot over stuff

To answer most stupid questions.. YES I saw all the alphas hit. NO not all of them showed on the paper doll.. There was no AMS to speak off.. The target was stationary, in the middle of a path.. It looked like an AFK mech, not a disco..

And no, I'm not speaking of 10 flea alphas.. I'm talking about bloody LRM60 alphas.. three of which killed a yellow-armor hunchback in a game prior to that one..

As much as you ***** about lights in general, no I don't think you would because the video probably shows you trying to farm a disco with auto aim.

funny enough, the testing grounds commando can in fact take 10xLRM60 volleys to kill from the side angle, it is a little tankier than pir tho

Why do you tout such a toxic attitude towards team play in a team game and expect roses in return?

Edit: I see people got to this point way before I did. Kudos.

Well if you had the video, don't you think we'd take you a lot seriously?

Likewise not lurming at 600m with a slow-*** assault?

Here's a thought, bring streaks.

It's because you expect us to respect your bad decisions as if they're just legitimate tactic. I mean really you're Lurm-Boating at 600 meters with a 100-tonner of all mechs. If it were an Awesome, it would at least be defensible.
