So, How To Build Missile Mechs?

1. Is the Artemis system worth it now? I assume it's not.
2. Smaller missile weapon systems need to be boated instead of larger ones. For e.g., the stock Revenant has dual C-LRM 20 and dual C-LRM 10. Now, I take it that it'd better to just go with quad C-LRM 10 and invest in proper laser weapons and full armour?
3. MRM mechs need to lighten the MRM weapon systems, eh? For e.g., the Kraken that I run has dual MRM 30 and an AC20. So, it'd be better to load dual MRM 20 and invest some tonnage into heat sinks and more AC20 ammo, then?
4. SRM mechs have a bigger issue now I take it? Like the Griffins that go with SRM6+A systems will need to reduce the SRM launchers. Maybe go heavy on JJ to get better angles and stuff? My Paralyzer runs 4 SPLs, 2 Flamers and 2 SRM 6 with Stealth armour, 2 JJ and XL 295. Since it's a backstabber and less of a brawler, it should be OK I suppose.
I'll post some more questions as I recall.

Well.. I guess you should play with Machine guns and SRMs exclusively.. That seems to be the way this game is progressing..

2. Again, it really depends.
3. Um... wut? The smaller MRMs are a lot less efficient than the larger ones, and is only worth "downgrading" them to where you would have an equal number of tubes anyway (2 MRM20s compared to a MRM40) as you'd get slight benefits to cooldown and spread at the cost of an increased weight.
4. Again... wut?

Haven't you got anything better to do than to moan in every thread how your Fafnirs can't be LRM boats anymore standing more than half a kilometer away? Seriously now.

According to some, the AMS are better at shooting down missiles based on the update that we've had and the HP of cluster of missiles have been reduced on larger missile launchers. Hence the questions. I haven't played MWO yet but I was curious.

Oh, right. This is true, but only really applies to LRMs in most cases. The shear numbers of missiles you get extra when going up a 'level' of MRMs makes up for any lost health per missile. But this is also a part of why I said if you can fit the same number of tubes by using smaller launchers, you can do that for just a bit more power while giving up a bit of weight.

lrm will need to be tested to see whats the best setup. I have no idea at this point.
srm stay with 6, there is no reason you should be firing these at range anyway.

I want to be mobile. The only LRM mech that I have is the Revenant and it has quad LRM 15 with 3 ERML and a Tag. I usually play Assaults as brawlers with MRMs and a large AC or some fast mechs with SRMs like Ares or Paralyzer. I was looking at the reward mechs on offer and thought choosing the Highlander IIC so that I could fit 2 UAC10, 2 LRM 15 and some backup lasers with a good chunk of DHS, ammo and also carry a tag maybe.

Hmm... so, the firepower of my Kraken will be reduced as I have dual MRM 30 and an AC20. I guess now I can carry more DHS or something. Let's see. And yeah, I wasn't talking about firing SRMs from beyong their optimal range.

Anything other than LRM80 alpha strike got mostly destroyed by AMS even before the patch. If you want you missiles to even connect you want big launchers and you want to fire them at once. The Highlander build you proposed is ridiculous, no offence.

So, we replace LRMs with MRMs.

No, I know. That's what people have told me lol. You should've seen my other build (1 LBX10 + 1 UAC10 instead of dual UAC10).
No, what I'm trying to do is stay mobile and within 300-500m of the enemy and use the direct fire weapons. The LRMs would be used when the enemy is out of LOS or until I have taken up position. I had two ATM 12s before but I guess the AMS would eat it up.
Like I said before, my mechs are either fast moving flanking mechs or brawlers. Only the Revenant has long range firepower. I wanted something that can do both at a reasonable level.

You'd be better off taking that KDK-3 for the quad gauss cheese.
Oh, God, no! That is one unbelievably sluggish mech. Last time, for the X'mas event, I had my eye on either the Kodiak, Hellbringer or the Mauler. I picked the Mauler. Bad mistake 'cause of the mobility. Don't want to repeat that mistake with.

Tell me that's not true. It can't be. That's some next level Jeremy Clarkson b*ll*cks right there
