I didn't get a screen cap of it since it was mid-rush but we were against a sizeable pre-made team of good players that just whooped us a few matches before. My group loaded out in fast heavies/mediums so we could flank. This same team randomly came up the next match after we switched.

Again, good players. But we thought we'd give it a try.

Right as we were coming around to flank, completely undetected as the entire enemy team was facing away from us. One of the other people on our own team (part of the other group that made up our team not our drop) call out in <All> that we're flanking them.

I've only been playing for about a month but does this happen alot? The guy was mad we didn't stick with his group and murder ball I think. We ended up winning the game and my group had most of the kills even though we all went down in the flank.

So I guess I'm just curious if we did something wrong by flanking and is this sort of behavior normal?

You did nothing wrong.. a successful flank is always welcomed.....

The guy who was lambasting you was obviously a tool.

Don't change anything.

This was presumably in Group Queue?

EDIT

Not seeing an answer, so assuming that it was GQ, then yes some units do occasionally sync drop to up their available tonnage, and alas in some cases to troll like this, but it is pretty damn rare.

If this happened in solo queue then I suspect it was just someone being snarky regarding whatever it was you were doing (at least from their perspective).

In both cases the person aiding the reds is in violation of the COC and you can report them ingame for aiding the enemy if that sort of thing makes you feel better.

Yes it was in group queue. And thank you for the answers I'll be sure to report it next time.

This is the kind of "player" that needs to be reported and kicked out of the game for indisputably violating the CoC, not some poor last Mech standing that you think *might* be hiding to only save the KDR. <shrugs>

I would take this advice with a huge grain of salt. Flank could lead to a number of poor results including a 4-12 situation for the flanking lance or an 8-12 for the lance that did not. Coordinating with your team is far more important than flanking.
