For the most part yes. I fully expect so see some suiciding light mechs run into the enemy blob, drop a UAV, get smooshed and promptly exit the game.

Then they're doing it wrong. UAV detections are the easiest event bonus to farm besides AMS- just deploy one over yourself when you enter the brawl, every match you play. Poof. 5-10 easy detections, no placement effort. No need to go all Leroy Jenkins on it.

This 100%. When I know that the enemies are close but I can't see them, I pop a UAV. I don't need to run deep behind enemy lines to get the benefit of UAV detections.
