You mind find you out-grow the those, you might not. There are definately progression options in terms of units/groups & play style but tackle that later and if you want. I could think of a few decent places.


I'd avoid anything loyalist for the most part - specifcally anything around: [Redacted] The stronger groups/units are mainly Mercs and have been for a while simply becuase of flexibilty it offers.

Cheekiez and the other streamers (mentioned earlier) are also good options.


I do training now and again as well and usually have a heap of high skill players/friends that come and lend a hand. Currently I'm too busy with Competitive/League play to committ to anything however. That dies down in 2-3 weeks. So keep an eye on my thread --> HERE <-- Also have a read of it, plenty of decent info. A tad is out of date simply because of balance changes.

Some of us are trying to fix that btw.

@OP: For what it's worth, I've been involved with MJ12's EU team for the currently ongoing MOR8 tournament, and the impression I've had so far is extremely positive. If MJ12 offers you a spot I'd say go for it.

( this is based on the state from September 2018 when I left the unit; it's possible some things have changed )
@OP : If you apply to HHOD , immediately seek out one of their SMs (Sergeant Majors) or officers on TeamSpeak and ask them for exact instructions to follow and requirements to meet during your probation period.

At the time I left, the instructions described in materials available to applicants were not up to date with the criteria that were actually in use ( which was minimum two weeks in probation and positive feedback from multiple unit members left after drops; be aware that some of their officers considered feedback from QP matches to be irrelevant ).

Also, note that HHOD has - or at least last I knew it had - a policy that recruits must pass probation before being allowed to participate in training other than covering their communications protocol.

Yeah I did leave you guys out I guess, although more come under the 'if you wanna progress somewhere later' type deal over other units. Thats where a bunch of others fall in as some are regular, some aren't and then the entire mixed bag that it is.

Well, remember that even if he was accepted by one doesn't mean he'll stay with them.

@OP: Don't forget... signing up with a unit isn't a lifetime commitment and if one doesn't work out for you don't hesitate to seek out a different one.

I've started contacting units, thank you all again for the information and recommendations. Got a lot to go through (ain't a bad thing) and I also have to play MWO. With all the events lately (thank you PGI) I've been trying to rake in as many space dollars as I can.
