Also real life art by decade. Early art is mostly 3025, 2750, 3030-3049 and early 3050s. About pre jihad with all the ownership swapping the art style goes all over the map but anything 2010+ tends to be more consistant imo.

I also think the changeing looks of mechs is less a lore problem as its more a realworld thing. I don't know if there even existed an artstyle guid for the artists. IIRC much of the artwork was inspired by Anime/Manga style with a bit western influances mixed in.
Later (realworld later) then we get a new style and more consistancy.
Thats also why I like MWOs interpretation. The mechs look consistant to each other instead of haveing a wild mix of different artstyles.

I think the look a little to much consistant (bad examples: Victor head on a Hatamoto, Highlander Head on a Charger)

Im not a *huge* lore buff, but was there a sort of slide into dark ages after the hay day of the star league that might be attributed to that? I'm probably talking bollocks.
Eh, half right. Even a lot of star league mechs look but ugly and 'primative' while other's look so cutting edge that they look right at home in the late 3100s.

The correct answer

Though I would also take either look of the Horned Owl (Peregrine)
