Right now there are too many and too strong airstrikes/artillery. Let's just call it airstrikes for now.

Everybody has consumable slot +1 anyways. Which makes it a ONLY 4 point investment.
For 4 points I otherwise get like 2x shock absorbance and 2% armor. That's not a balanced skill tree.

24 players x 2 = 48 per game.

That's far stretched, but there are so many games nowadays with ~20 airstrikes.

I would like to play Mechwarrior again and not dodge the red flare and start your fight at 70% health.

- Either make the airstrike weaker.
- Make it a far bigger skillpoint investment
- Set the cooldown timer higher for individual and team.

Making it more expensive in cbills/MC wouldn't be good as it would be pay2win

I suppose I can understand where he's coming from. It's not fair that you can't put them on trial mechs or that new players are put in matches with people that actually know how to use them.

Perhaps, instead of nerfing strikes....they could implement some sort of mechanism that separates people based on their skill and experience. Call it a "matchmaker" or something. That would really benefit MW:O. Kind of surprised it's been around as long as it has been without one, actually.

This is a third thread about this in a week or so. General consensus is that the strikes aren't too strong, it's your ability to notice them and react that are too weak.

Man, last night it seemed like it was Marauder IIs everywhere. Even in GQ. Came around a corner after the guy in front of me took a barrage, thinking I’d get a nice no return fire alpha off I went to poke and there were four of the damn things just staring at me at in a perfect staggered line...at which point three of them leveled me. Oh, and there was an arty dropped somewhere around there too. Yeah, those strikes are really affecting my enjoyment of the game /s.

I don’t know why strikes keep getting brought up, but they are the least of my concerns these days.

Only issue i have with strike is I can't count on mine when i need it. It would be nice if they could balance them in a way to remove the global cool down.

Yeah, I don't see any problem with strikes. Sure every once in a while you'll get hit with one even if your situational awareness is good but generally you get PLENTY of warning to move away from the red smoke.

1. Don't sit still too often.
2. Use comms and call "red smoke, catapult move!"
3. Pay attention to your surroundings. Especially if you're bunched up with your team since that's the best time for an enemy to use them.

I think there are too many weapons in the game. Just last night I was in a game where I got shot. It doesn't seem fair that some people know how to use them and some don't.

Maybe there's a way to change them so I don't get shot.

Nothing wrong with them as is, they have already been nerfed and most people can not afford to bring any let alone 2.

Most players in this thread can afford Airstrikes until the end of time.

While the damage is concentraded in a single line, Air strikes are much less reliable than artillery strikes. Since you basically have to trust your enemies to literally stay still for around 7 seconds until the airstrike lands. Otherwise they can easily dodge it.

Artillery strikes(Or Michael bays as i would like to call them) are randomly generated explosions in an area, and are completely unpredictable. There were occasions when i walked into the middle of a strike and i took one or zero hits.

Also. Multiple times i got artillery set at my feet, and all i did was reverse out, and since the radius is not that big, you can get away without a scratch if you react in time.

If it was upto me I'd remove them from the game.They are nothing but a cheap shot.

Well, that one is easy. If you were in QP before you can do a total of 250 damage with 4 mechs in FP, then you were out of your league. You need to go back to FP until you can do that total of 250 damage....then you'll be able to fully contribute to your team's loss in QP.
