It's a little tiring playing the same maps over again (like HPG and mining collective), but I rather have that, than go back to playing unpopular maps too often.

The ones I dislike get rarely picked up nowPosted Image, so that when they are selected is not so bad to have an occasional match on those.

The mode is crucial too, it may turn a good map into total garbage.

All the Mechs in your drop deck would have to be equal.
if you done have enough mechs select from stock inventory.

So basically the game would show you the map, then you select from your Drop Deck.

Perhaps it would be best to get rid of voting altogether.

after all, variety is the spice of life.


We had a full random map once... ONCE... but people complained, so we got this.

If they dropped from 4 choices to 3, we would get more variety.


I'd also love a Variant drop deck.. which would mean you could play any variant of the mech you are currently selected. SO if you had a commando picked, you could pick any commando after map selection. I think this would help out a lot in the end. I know people say it would make everyone just play LRM's on open maps and such, but most mechs don't have that wide of an option, and i think more than enough could grab ECM, or use long range direct fire weapons or heck add AMS for example to make it a viable and fun option.

Besides all the top meta mechs would hardly changee anyway. This would help all the ones that are a bit lacking and let people play mechs that are fun on some maps, but sorry team we are screwed because this mech sucks on X, Y and Z maps.

hhmmm. i think i would like to be rid of voting purely so i dont have to spend every 3rd game on Grim Plexus.

The map is actually decent but for some reason i just really hate it.

My favourites are Canyon, Mining, HPG, Rubellite, Bog and Solaris.

River and Crimson are ok as is Forest and Terra

I dont really like Polar unless im bringing a lot of range and AMS (i play brawlers mostly) and i dont really like Frozen (though ive had some great brawls on that map.

I havent played the cold version of Canyon yet hopefully its good

If they won't go back to 100% random. I agree they should change the map rotation so we can have more variety. It's part of why I grew burnt out with the game. So sick of dropping on the same 3 maps.

To fix voting we would need to get rid of it and go with random maps and modes.

Going back to random is just treating the symptoms. The reason certain maps never get voted is because they suck compared to others. Treating the problem would be making bad maps better so they get voted more often.

I like the voting system more than how is was in the early years.
The fact of the matter is that new terra therma is a pretty un-fun map that while big, engagements almost always end up in the same spot and it takes forever because everyone is overheated.
River city you can't see anything half the time.
Alpine makes every short range mech near useless.
Bog and forest colony, one spawn has the clear positional advantage over the other.
People vote HPG, Mining Collective, Canyon, Highlands, Solaris, Oasis, because they're fair maps that have good visibility. And I vote for them too.

I don't want to be forced to play the crap maps as often as the good ones just to satiate the minority, sorry.

My advice to you is to pick one unpopular map that you really like. Once your multiplier hits 3 or 4 only vote when your favorite unpopular map pops up. Keep it up and you'll get it soon enough.

I feel you though OP, Viridian Bog is my jam.
