The Satanic Rites of Dracula

Rated R 1973
Hammer Film Studio

In a more modern twist, Dracula returns, and is part of modern day (1970's) with plans on ending the world. With the help of some Satanic minded individuals, he runs up against his former foe, Helsing.

Scenes include Dracula sitting at a desk, and getting caught by Hawthorn branches at the end, lady vampires in red robes. This film is not for kids.

i may have seen this one some years ago and filed it firmly under meh.

of course ive been watching horror movies since i was 3 so i have been so desensitized to them that i hardly ever get the kind of enjoyment out of them as others seem to. the shock value is just gone.

I know the feeling. A long time ago when "Alien" was still a new film my Uncle said "Hey come here and watch this space movie.". Not knowing the movie I popped in front of the TV, seconds before the chest buster scene and I went screaming from the room much to my Uncles amusement (Don't you dare hit like on this post I felt bad enough about it at the time.).

Now, a severed head and some creature munching away on an arm....yeah no big deal.
