You don't press any keys, but your mech runs at ~2% speed and constantly turns right. Had it only about two times so far. Have a suspicion that MASC may be the culprit here, as I drop in Shadow Cat and Black Lanner often, every session. I don't think keyboard is at fault here, since when I open chat, no keypresses are registered, although mech stops. I also can go into menu (with Esc), and mech stops as well, but as soon as you return into the game, mech resumes spinning.

Someone can find it pretty amusing, but when you run long ranged builds, like ER-PPC or ER-LL, it can be insanely annoying. I think I tried everything to fix it, edited controls, unplugged kb/m, various keypress combinations. One thing I didn't try is disconnect and reconnect, since it can end pretty badly. That's not the only game I play, and I don't have any similar issues like this, so, again, I'm pretty sure my controllers are fine.

Did anyone else experience this bug or I am special?

You are special... case Posted Image. Besides kb/m, are there any other devices connected, gamepad, joystick, etc?

Go to Settings and Controller and remove the Joystick commands.. Each has an X next to it. I think the only one you would need to clear is the Analog Turn.

Nope, no other controllers besides kb/m connected, and I have everything related to pad turned off in menus.

Hmm, I'm pretty sure I tried that, thanks for the tip though, I'll keep double tapping opposite more next time.

I had that bug yesterday. I thought maybe my keyboard was malfunctioning.

On the controller settings, clear out the analog turn. Since you do not use a joystick or such it will not hurt anything but it is receiving an analog signal. That is why unplugging the keyboard/mouse did not fix it if the signal is not coming from those two devices.

And when you said Pad.. do you mean mouse pad on a laptop? /like pulling teeth.. :)

Try hitting the button that seems to be stuck. Sometimes, Windows games will be affected by a bug where the system thinks the button is being held down when it's not, and the only way to correct that is to hit the button again. I'm pretty sure it's a bug in Windows, anyways.

His issue though is it is acting as if there is a controller sending an analog signal, with the signal directing the mech forward at a slow speed and turning in a specific direction.

Ah, yes. I missed that part where it's only partial. Well, at least anyone who read my post might remember an easy fix to that other problem, lol.

I've had similar issues before, a solid whack of the collective movement keys has always straightened it out... Why, yes, I am an American, how did you know?

yeah its the windows key or the swap keyboard language combination of keys that triggers it.

I can confirm this, I have it happen in my Shadowcat sometimes. Alt for MASC and Shift for Arm Lock aside from locking me in a full speed and spinning to the left also change the keyboard language xD
Very annoying.

Interesting, so it seems I'm not that special. Still, does double tapping opposite direction fixed it for you, folks? Or there are some extra tips?

I already said... somehow you chose a windows combination for changing language keyboard...

Not somehow, but Shift is MASC and Alt is Unlock Arms, so yeah... but I could swear I did hit this combo few times to change language for chat, and spinning didn't trigger...

Shrug. You hit the combo again and it stops spinning.

There are ways to disable the Windows Key, or toggle it off and back on in case you don't want to "permanently" disable it. I don't do either myself, but I can see how it could be useful to others depending on their keyboard and their keybinds. Google brought up some interesting things, such as using Sharpkeys or AutoHotkey to perform these tasks. You can also edit the registry to disable. Look around see what y'all can find.

I still keep getting this bug, and I confirm it happens when you press Shift+Alt+direction key. It affects which direction mech will be spinning. I tried tapping every possible direction, but doesn't snap out of it. I could even hold Shift+Alt and switch which direction mech will be spinning endlessly.

Switching language combination keys, as well as in-game controls for MASC and unlock feels a bit out of reach, since I'm very comfortable and used to both, plus this is the only game I have this bug. Is there really no other way to avoid it happening or get back things to normal once it starts?...

It's not a bug, it's a feature. Auto rotation so you can focus on aiming :D
