Rather than deleting them all could ask for them to be transferred to my account. I promise to use them.

Afaik, they all came with their own mechbay.
You can always bother support to remove any mech you want. You just won't get it back ever again.

Be nice to sell them even if just for 50% of the cbills that mech normally gets. I'd rather have the empty mechbay than the unplayed griffon taking up dead space.

The L and S versions have a 30% C-bill boost. Selling them would amount to sabotaging yourself, as over time the mech would earn you more C-Bills from the boost than you'd get from selling it right now.

Problem with this is that I've used my loyalty Atlas literally once.

Also if I needed C-Bills (which I don't, and never will), I could just use a better 'mech, have better matches, and earn more C-Bills that way (and if I use a Sleipnir I get that same 30% boost, too!)

I'm not mechbay desperate enough to sell the thing, but I totally understand the idea of a special 'mech being useless.

I'm stuck with that atrocious NCIX Centurion. The damn company went bankrupt yet that pile of junk is still in my inventory.

You can actually make the NCIX Centurion work. I made mine into a weird little LRM support mech that surprisingly works well in QP.

AC10 (2.5t ammo) + 3xSRM-4 (3t ammo) + LFE250, works perfectly fine.

How, exactly, would it be to your detriment if someone else was able to sell Mechs they don't want?

If I sold my loyalty Urbie and Javelin, would that bother you?

It would give impulsive players one more way to shoot themselves in the foot.

And that's an issue because...?

If you don't understand why, then perhaps you need to think about the long-term outcome in terms of players clogging the support system with demands to restore mechs they "accidentally" sold months ago and because that would eventually cost PGI their patronage.
One person comes to my mind in particular - he stripped every piece of equipment from his founder mechs and wasted C-Bills repeatedly buying and selling mechs (which did nothing to fix him being ******* terrible as a player) until he was basically unable to play anything but trial mechs (and unable to earn more than a pittance, since as mentioned already he was so ******* terrible that to call him a potato would insult the potatoes).
