Posted this at the same time I did yesterday before I knew that there was a difference between Beta and actual forums. Not a forum person; it's for this reason I hate ever posting on any.

You can already power down.
As for going prone. LoL. Your mech takes so long to get up that it's basically a death sentence

I would like to go prone. Will make me hard to snipe from a distance until I can ambush you.

Ah. I looked through the settings to find such a key before I posted this, I must have missed it.
The thing is, even though it takes a moment for your mech to get up, it allows you to hide behind far lower-lying terrain than normal...easy enough to wait for a threat to pass by, get out of sight, and then get up and move in from behind.
It is a bit of a silly suggestion, but you could do it in the board game to great tactical benefit in the right situations (also, if you were playing a 'blind' game, as it were...two identical maps hidden from one another, with a GM putting in sensor contacts and such)
Don't know about setting but they have mentioned being able to shutdown.
Also yes you can prone in TT, but there's a lot of things that simply wouldn't work or be viable here simply because this game is not turn based.
