This sounds like a bad joke. I finally talked my friend up to play a game no one had heard about but I enjoyed, saying: People play this game all the time, they're nice and the game is fun, seriously check it out.
Unfortunately, when you can't find a game it makes you look like a liar when you say that.
You'd think after a few minutes the game would give in and be like: "Maybe we won't wait for 20 minutes for other groups of people to join and make it "even" and just let these two people play with randoms?"
As I was typing this my friend gave up and went to bed.
I get it with league of legends, but the league is 5 vs 5. Not 12 vs 12 if you think the same system can work then you're sorely wrong. Especally when you think about the fact that you let people with 400 ping and 11 ping play together.

yea finding a match with a 2men group is hard. I would suggest to open a Lobby match first to show your friend the Basics,moving,terrain,aiming for specific components that are shown damaged in the paper doll, mini map and all that stuff and to beocme a feeling how it feels to fight in a Battlemech.
I am a active Instructor in the german "taking a newby on the hand" Programm and yep its really hard and annoying to find a match witha 2man group.So i start with newbys irst opening a lobby and showing them the basics. What weapons are in the game and how they work, weapongroup arangment and all that stuff a newby dont know bout.
Yea i agree with you its a problem. People want to bring ew Players here and cant show them even a single match without waiting more then a half hour...

Even if you get a game as 2 player group: if you play 2 Assaults you will left behind by your "team" and get killed by light mechs.
If you play faster Mechs you throw away tonnage, or get matched against a 12 player premade.

Get a Medium mech, do some scouting.
It is 4 vs 4 but w/o matchmaker. At least gettig games is easy, compared to Grp que at some daytimes.
