The Star Puncher

John Wayne stars in this black and white western styled movie. Although rather short compared to modern movies, it was filmed when John Wayne was still a young actor. It begins with John Wayne and an Indian companion rob a stage coach, only to become a sheriff. Returning the money he takes on a gang of bandits ran by a figure known as the Shadow.

Features several scenes of horses being ridden, and horse chases, a massive chase with a wagon armed with a machine gun firing at the lawmen in pursuit, and a hidden tunnel that leads up to a stump used to shoot lawmen and rivals while allowing the assassin to remain hidden.

Poor quality film due to age despite restoration, does not have an intensive plot, and as John Wayne was just starting out in his acting career his inexperience infront of the camera shows rather significantly.
