Anyone else have the problem with damage not registering correctly? As clearly shown in the video, I'm hitting the mech as the graphics on the mech show laser burn. But no damage on the paper doll. It also seems to happen with ER PPCs where there is no splash damage.
I used to have plenty more videos showing the same issue but got too upset and deleted them.

This behavior is quite normal against disconnected mechs like in your example video, their hitboxes are usually shifted/distorted.
You should not have those problems against active opponents, as long as the relative ping difference between you and your target is not extreme.

Happens on non-disco mechs. I also thought it might be ping related. I'm in montreal and my ping is sometimes as low as 6. Usually around 10.

Maybe your target had a "lag-shield" which happens if they have a very bad ping. If you are fighting a moving target that has a 200+ ping it's technically impossible for any game to compensate. In this case you will rarely hit them where you aim at, regardless how great your own ping is.

I think disconnected mechs can't die by headshot. I am not 100% sure of that info though.

They did change it (can't remember which patch notes tho) but we can't get free headshots from disco mechs anymore.

Head damage does not register on a disconnected mech to prevent "non-legit" headshot farming.
