On the smurf account I got the light challenge finished fairly easily with the trial mechs, needing only one match each for all but one mech. On the main account, I brought each chassis and put a decent build into it before attempting the event. The trials can't really cut it in the higher tiers. Then just strip and sell the chassis afterwards. Haven't found any tempting enough to keep.
Having said that, it's not particularly worth it for 3 days premium. However, it's something different to do.

My Feelings On Doing This Event In Trial Mechs

I got my kill in the trial Commando by sticking to a trial Jenner IIC and shooting him for half the match. It must have taken my 5 minutes to kill that guy.
That commando is low alpha and low DPS. What it excels at is making you buy a commando to complete the event.

I got lucky with the commando, I killed a mech that was already had one missing leg and apparently the other leg only needed one more shot to finish it off...( he was alone so I assume he killed whoever legged him)

I got lucky and vultured a kill in my trial commando. I'm sure my other team mate got the kmdd, since he did most of the work, so "win-win"? Got lucky in the wolfhound as an enemy medium overheated in front of me. Also the shadow cat trial mech is hot garbage. That was just painful. Stormcrow trial wasn't horrible. And I owned a few Cicadas and a Vindie that had some skill points on them.
